It was, to them, too good a deal to pass up - buy two 32GB iPhone 4s at $350 each and get another one for free.

The model sells for $1,048 without a contract.

But after the three sisters sank in about $5,000 of their savings, along with two other girls, they realised it was a scam.

It started with an ad on Gumtree Singapore - a classified ads website - which a classmate showed to 17-year-old Tan Hui Ting.

They transferred various amounts to bank accounts in the UK and Nigeria beginning earlier this month and have been waiting in vain to get 36 phones.

A fool and his/her money are soon parted.

What a bunch of morons.

Seriously, we need more stupid people. So that intelligent beings like me can take advantage of them.

Sam as usual, u are missing the point. Its not that fools and their money are soon parted. Its that 2 17 year old girls have $5000 in savings. Wow. There are entire households who don't have $5000 in savings. That's quite a bit of money for 2 girls to have.

$5000 is less than a peanut. It's chickenshit. Girls can easily earn that sort of money in a week.
