SHANGHAI - A van ran over a taxi driver after the two drivers quarreled in Shanghai on December 5. The taxi driver was instantly killed.
The incident happened at about 10:50 am on the intersection of Tianshan and Furongjiang roads in the Changning district, according to a witness who saw the taxi chasing the van.
When both vehicles were stopped at a red light, the cabbie got out of his taxi to argue with the van driver over a small scratch on the cab. The unnamed witness said that when the light turned green, the van, which had a Henan license plate, knocked the taxi driver down as he tried to stop it from leaving.
The van continued for 4 to 5 meters with the cabbie under its right rear wheel, according to Xuan Kejiong, live reporter with Shanghai TV Station.
Police took the van driver in for questioning, and the case is under investigation.
