Can't sing, can't strum and can't write. 80s New Wave, 90s Grunge.

Old Plaza Singapura with Ponderosa. Notice the same floor tile pattern.

Hehehe BigO magazine... I still remember this character called Francis Frightful from the local punk Opposition Party :D:D

My site was the cover story for BigO magazine in 2000.

Plaza Sing then was Singapore's unofficial music hub. Yamaha (music school/classical and rock instruments retail/hi fi retail), Swee Lee (rock and classical instruments), Supreme Records, Tat Chuan (monster cables/tannoy speakers), Pertama and another entry level audiophile store selling NAD/Marantz (forgot the name) all under one roof. not to forget Yaohan also selling those Sony/Pioneer/Aiwa "hi fi sets" and mini combos highly popular back then.

I remember that Tat Chuen was located at Dhoby Ghaut before they moved to Adelphi.

I also likes Depeche Mode, Franikie go to Hollywood, Erasure, Dead and Alive, Commonards, Bronki Beats, Pet Shop Boys, Villager People, David Bowie, Eltan John, Mark Almond, Rupaul, right says fred, Queens, boy town gangs, glory gaynor, Donny summers, chers, geroge michael, scissus sisters, palcebo, bloke party, maryilyn, tom robinson, cultured club and so many disco types to music.

I must playing tonight with Freddie and asking Alan and leslie to coming and join in all these fanatastic music.

Ah yes.. Smash hit mag.. One of those mags that me and my elder bro used to buy at the Mama shop.. Used to tear out alot of posters from Smash magazine and paste it on our bedroom walls.. Groups like BROS, Camouflage, Depeche Mode.. Kinda cool back then bringing them to school..

One of my favourite trip hop DJs (and from what I've read, a true professional) is DJ Shadow. His recent remix of EBTG's Missing is the most the daring and refreshing I've heard since they overplayed Todd terry's version. Do a search on "Missing On the Motorway (Tiger Mendoza Mix)" on Youtube. Sorry I can't paste the link here since Youtube is banned where I'm at :(

The quest for good music continues........

Wow.. this is good stuff. DJ Shadow. Thanks for sharing. 1st time i heard about trip hop. Personally, I am into House.

yeah I like his sound very much. A true grandmaster from the 90s. Besides being talented, he's also one of my heroes when it comes to promoting creativity, professional ethics and artistic integrity. You can download the Remix project album (containing the "missing" remix) on his site for free.

House (and techno) has moved on so much since my clubbing days that I've really lost track. I don't really fancy the current sounds like trance or dubstep. I guess it's because I've quit the clubbing lifestyle so long ago.
