I have to disagree with you here.
This may look as if it is a small matter right from the start but WP screw it up even bigger than it is supposed to be.
There is no shame to apologize at the right instance, especially when their own MP has already received the letter from the Hawkers Association. But they chose to use the sneaky technique up to the dot. Pritam is totally disappointing and he is apparently opportunistic when he put up that press statement, trying to justify AHTC's failure to deliver the service as the rule only requires to clean once a year... but he has exposed his lack of empathy here as hawkers has already paid for cover and lose income for closing stalls for nothing.

The mystery carries on... if the Hawker Association has written to WP MP with regards to the extra charges asked from AHTC property manager, why did AHTC still claim that there is no "authorised personnel" from its TC has told hawkers that they need to pay extra?
Are the WP MP and TC communicating with each other or not? Did AHTC know that its own property manager has told hawkers about extra charges? If yes, why did it consider him as "non-authorized" personnel? If a manger grade employee isn't officially authorised to deal with such issue, then who is? If no, then did AHTC ask around? Why would its own employee tell hawkers to pay extra charges while it is not AHTC's intention? If it is not AHTC's intention, did AHTC acted on it when WP MP received that complain? Did AHTC know its own contractor wrote to hawkers to ask for extra payment? If yes, did they take action against their contractor? If no, didn't they ask their contractor at all?

Poorly done. Too many loopholes. Too obvious.
What I really find noteworthy. With the latest blast, NEA still refused to answer 2 things.
1. Did someone from their organization tell the TC that the scaffolding will be provided. Yes or no. The TC said they did. It's an allegation. Surely they can answer yes or no, yet they didn't answer after 3 rounds.
2. From the start to the end the TC has never shirked its responsibilities and never said they will not. Poor management is different from not doing. They are going to do it. Why did NEA have to address reminder of their responsibilities twice. To score points or to falsely paint them as not doing.
On the other hand except NEA's latest blast, AHPE TC has covered all the points. We can choose not to believe the TC or think they are ill-mannered, but points-wise, they left no stone unturned. Detailed.
Apparently nothing is done lah... or even when he sent notes to AHTC people, they are just smart alec, ignored him!
