uncle, if your friend is paying for school books & uniform, then he not low income lah. as long family income less than $2k, everything free, malays, chinese, tamil or even angmo as long made in singapore. i know this not only from malay colleague and also when my son enrolled in primary 1. during school registeration, the school will provide all information in hard copy to all parents. if parents dont read info provided by school and miss out on help scheme, then he farking deserved to pay for his lazy attitude.
as for malays pay less bills, that a myth. they paid the same amount of school fee as other races. are u telling me SP charge malays less per kilowatt than other races or town council fee not based on flat size but on color of the skin?

uncle, it beri sianz to see ppl complain that malays pay less because they are malay. it not true anymore. it maybe true in the 80s but now already 2012 liao yet ppl still harping on it. The only real reason why malays pay less nowsaday it becuase malays are more willing to ask for help. they will apply for everything even may not qualify because no apply confirm cannot get. do u know malay radio stations give advise to listeners on how to apply for help? do u hear any from local chinese radio channels? didnt a mat rock complain recently on his facebook on why malays receiving help from a buddist temple have their photo taken with the statue of budda in the background? see, malays even go to other religion worship area to receive free money because money more important than face.
