really depends. for example to hainan, haikou. sq does not fly there. all full service also no direct flight. so a choice of transit + flight of SQ n other china airlines of 7 hrs +, compare to tiger or jet star. only less than 4 hrs. i went for tiger. short flight, dun need to be too choosy. i dun want to waste time on travelling. period.
