There is no right or wrong in making ur selection... While some go for design and lifestyle, some go for performance. For instance, portable music audiopile... MP3/CD player + Headphone Amp + Headphone... Although i m more into MQ then design, i m not gonna carry all tat stuff on the move... But if MQ is a top concern... Then there is no other way...
The MQ of Ipod although not the worst, certainly not the best. Buy it if u r a Ipod supporter, user interface and cool factor matter. Dun buy if SQ and functions matter more...
With 6k... U can either go Atlas Hi-Fi n get urself a set of Bose Lifestyle... Nice and cute small jewel speakers and SQ which probably beat any off the shelf Hi-Fi... Or u can go Adlefi, mix n match a set of complete misfit... Although it look like shit in ur living rm, u can be assure this set of misfit is gonna beat the hell out of the Bose in SQ... So b4 u commit u got 2 noe whether u r going 4 lifestyle or performance... Tragic strike when u cross the line...
I hav friends frm both and often c them regretting in their purchase when they cross over...

At 10.50pm yesterday, there were at least 300 people queuing at SingTel's Comcentre in Exeter Road.

Well, I guess people are spoilt for choice. After all, there ARE smartphones which are better than the iPhone in some aspects.
But it must also be noted that iPhone works better when a country has the iTunes service, and the Apps store. The Apps store in other countries which have also iTunes even up the iPhone quality as it has many third party apps that make the iPhone better, and more versatile.
Still a smartphone isn't about the camera mega pixel; I doubt RIM's Blackberry models have cameras that have 5 mega pixel as well.
And its only overpriced because Singtel has a monopoly; come to Australia or go to HK and you can get it cheaper. Trust me.

REal one but i think is 2nd hand in someway, but the software is solid, no need itune, they can put in everything you want, even got package somemore.
YOu get ur iphone and if you want any software just fly to bkk for some fun and MBK got those iphone package software for you to install.
starhub and M1 also intend to bring in iphone towards end of year..
thus from now til then which is about 4 months, singtel try to make a kiiling..

I got a gen 1 iPod, its 7 year old & still working. Apple products quite lasting : )
I'm considering getting an iPod touch or Iphone because its small & will allow me to check emails when I travel. Many countries now have Wi Fi hot spots.
I've got a Hi Fi system equipped with Monitor Audio & Jamo Speakers which I think is better than Bose & sometimes I hook up my iPod for the Hi Fi experience. With the iPod, I can access my music collection faster than my CD collection.
I don't know anyone who regretted getting their Apple products. Could be because they are not impulse buyers. They are not buying an Apple product because its some kind of status symbol but because of the user friendliness of the products.
Its a pity that Singtel has been chosen to distribute the iPhone. They are out to ketuk their customers. I may pick one up in HK where its suppose cheaper.
The iPhone has become THE standard in the marketplace. All the handphone phone manufacturers know this, thats why there are so many "iphone killers".
Before the iPhone the only advancement in handphones were better camera or MP3 capacity.
Even if you don't get an iPhone, your next handphone will have many "iPhone" features.

Actually... it shd hav being Sony the one leading instead... Bk in 1980 when the 1st portable music player, Sony Sound about (later known as walkman) is launched, Sony was the leader of portable music... Then come Discman whereby Sony still lead the race by a mile... Then come mp3... Instead of following the trend, they focus on MiniDisc... Not entirely their fault though... While Sony Electronic is keen, it had conflict of interest with Sony Recording over copyright issue... Steve Job send Sony a Thank you card n say they take over the yellow shirt frm here onwards... Some of my friends (only some) regretted buying the Ipod. They r audiopile who dun mind carrying an ugly player, and pressing more buttons... wat matter most is SQ which Ipod fail to satisfy them... I dunno whether tat a gd or bad thing coz... How dull can it get if u walk out in the street and everyone is using nothing but Ipod...
