Singapore's hidden history

Mona had a loyal Indon customer at Lido. Out of greed, she enticed this Indon to the cruise ships to gamble. Mona collaborated with a syndicate to cheat this Indon lots of $$$.

Mona certainly knows who ordered the hit and considers herself lucky to be alive not dead.

Who else? Hong Li!

Only Victor who went on to work for HP and Juliet, a lawyer did alright. The rest of the sibling and their families turned to crime.

Richard spent his life cheating and acting as informant to various US agencies, went to prison all over the world. He now dragged his son Warren into the mess.

Wlliam and his wife also followed into the same thing and they brought along their kids. Everytime arrested the kids ended up getting detained and then released to their grandmother. They used to have shop in Katong selling perfumes from their forays in the overseas market. To spite the authorities, they named the shop Kidd Traders after the name of the girl Sunny murdered.

Sister and his husband nicknamed the Pink Panther were members of the most notorious shoplifting gang.

Never seen a family as notorious as this.

Met up with Juliet Toh in her office in the 80's at the Far Eastern Bank bldg where she was practising with her lawyer husband, Mr Toh.....

She handled the conveyancing for one of my property purchases. Not many years later I learnt that was divorced from him.

Cruise ship cheating is not uncommon. In the 90's lawyer tua-pui Loo together with big-time bookie Maurice and a few accomplices attempted to cheat $20m from
Star Cruise. They managed to win by conspiring with the private room pit-boss to swap the cards in the baccarat shoe just before the commencement of game.

Genting refused to make the payout and the whole scheme was blown apart when the pit-boss was beaten up till he confessed.

This is an usual case for a number of reasons. There was not a single witness. All incriminating evidence came from the Brothers. The Brothers actually gave a true account of the incident in their statements. They murdered the guy as he was beating up the sister. In fact the info that led to the arrest came from the one of the brothers.

The Church had been renovated and there was zilch. It would have been hilarious if the case went to court as the entire prosecution witnesses were the accused themselves. No first officer at the scene, no pathologist as no no body was found and therefore no autopsy, no nothing. In fact, it was believed that the brothers were prepared to give an actual account. Something a state will never do.

The absence of a body is not an issue as the Sunny Ang case established.

What was the sentence? Only heard they were CLed.

The difference b/w Mona and Fat Loo's is that Mona betrayed a friend cum good customer by colluding with a syndicate. Fat Loo and company conspired with insider to cheat casino not friend.

In 1985, this schoolgirl from CJC went jogging ... she never returned alive. Her naked body was found bound and stabbed, ans was sexually assualted. Her killers were never caught. UP to this day, there are people who feel the case is not closed, and justice will be done!

Chances of case being solved is as good as S'pore winning the World Cup. Then CP GYH took a personal interest in this case. Was told deceased was a college mate of his daughter.

The longer the case is not solved, the lesser the chances it will be solved. Whatever evidence they missed 25 years ago will not surface today. The murderer could be residing in Mandai now. Very sad case indeed.

Agree with your point. Cases that were solved years later usually involved more than 1 person. Some live to tell of their heroics years after commission of their offence.

In other cases, lips weren't sealed completely. Friction years later, leading to vendetta is also another possibilty why some cases were solved years later.

In Winnifred's case, it is highly likely the act was done by one person.

You are neither right nor wrong. Same here. We will just have to wait.

Btw, thanks for the reminder - samburger.

dna extends a long arm ...

I believe you are referring to the murder of one Frankie Tan ( or Lim ) who was put through his university education by his Thai wife who was not well educated, graduated then worked in DBS and later Amex Bank. He abandoned his wife and fooled around with some bar girls, wife got angry and hired two Thai thugs to kill him at his Laguna HUDC flat. She and both the killers were later caught and hanged

No, not that case. Its about two good friends, Name maybe freddy and sean or gean, something like that. It happened in 1967 or 1968. It was long court case.
Somehow I cannot find it in the books or internet.
