Singaporean in his 30s says he feels left behind in life because even with “2 jobs, I can barely provide for my parents”

No worry! LW might do a Trump by mass deportation of new immigrants and CECA Indians to win big margin in the next election!
Lawrence Wong didn't mention anything to that effect contrary to Trump's entire campaigns where he never fail to scream "fucked immigrants"

Can this fucker tally up his points for Australia skilled migration before 35yo? After that points drop drastically. If one believes SG "is my future, is my land" you are a fool. The world is a big place.

Australia has plenty of racists everywhere.
They love fucking up the chinks that they can find. Some get the middle finger. Some get spit on. Some get beaten up.
Best of all some get killed.
Only Singapore has no racism.

At least he still thinks of supporting his parents.
Even those earning >10k per mths have problems supporting their aged parents, once they have their own family.
The medical cost required is simply too costly for most people.
Only those elderlies with a few high flyers children can overcome this problem. And provided they are willing to part with their hard earned money.

It's 2024. If adults today do not plan ahead and then encounter disappointment from their kids, it's nobody's fault but their own.
Don't you realise that demanding and expecting kids to fund your life is actually an abuse?
Filial piety is abuse!

I think it really depends.
Do you want to sacrifice for your parents?
Did your parents sacrificed for you when you were young.

If yes (for both) , how much?

For some, there is no boundary. They can even donate their life to their parents if possible.
For some, can sacrifice some only.

Those kinky massage parlour ladies they how many jobs u got hear them complain? :o-o:

If your parents are Pioneer generation, as most are, the medical costs are low lah. No problem to pay for them

It depends on medical situation.
For general polyclinic and even hospitalization, the cost is subsidized and covered by either medishield life or pte insurance.
But once they become a outpatient. That's where all the heavy cost will kick in. If the patient needed medical consumables/equipments at home long term after discharge, the axe will come, head chop off immediately, if they didn't apply for medi fund assistance.

Once u use up all your medisave etc. then almost everything is paid for by the govt. But first they want u to exhaust your resources first. One of my relatives recently had 4 stens put in during his heart surgery. Paid $800 for it. Rest taken care of by hospital because he is Pioneer generation.

Outpatient cannot use medisave de woh.
Only those sickness listed under chronic disease can use but also limited to $700 per year for outpatient clinic fees.
When you go retail pharmacy to buy eg nestle boost for malnutrition patient, gauze, syringe etc etc all need cash and the items are all very expensive. Patient with nasal gastro tube feeding, patient with colostomy the bags etc all are super costly, and all different kind of medical conditions requiring all different kind of medical products, you will pay a few K per mth just for the consumables.
I came across cases for parental nutrition need about $7k per mth take note just for that item excluding all other expenses that need to go along with it.
Glaucoma patient using eye drop that are not subsidized per bottle abt $25-$45 just a few ml of drops. Per mth a few hundreds is needed. Pg glaucoma pay the same rate as not all eye drops are subsidised.
You will pay for your patents until you broke even your mthly income is 10k

Strange PAP Govt would tell us what our Medisave can or cannot be used..
Better take out all your CPF where possible when 55 and buy private medical insurance instead.

Migrating to AUS will not solve the issue. AU$ is so pathetic nowadays...
