Outer Manchuria was ceded by Qing dynasty to Russia in 1860s. I think 1945-1949 ROC territory maps don't include Outer Manchuria so KMT also stop claiming that territory as part of China. The predecessor governments Qing and KMT didn't reclaim Outer Manchuria so can't blame Mao and CCP for everything.

KMT recognized Outer Mongolia [40 times Taiwan size] independence in 1946 under pressure from Russia and US. In 1953, KMT started claiming Outer Mongolia as ROC's territory again.
Chiang Gong and KMT also do this kind of things.

u want to talk about outer mongolia did you know they conquerored china in the 1200s? Man were they good and they still pray to ghengis khan till today. Other than khan there's nothing of significance or of note out from mongolia.

There was no such thing as Inner Mongolia until after WW2. When Ming overthrew Yuan, Ming claimed the entire Mongolia as tributary protectorate. The entire Mongolian empire reaching as far as eastern Europe collapsed with its heart gone. Mongolia in those days wasn't that small in terms of population and even bigger in terms of land area. Their conquest of China ironically proved to be their downfall.

Cut the story short, after WW2, China wanted to claim the whole of Mongolia and Manchuria, the two border states that had conquered China before and in turn and in time, classified as local Chinese people, just like Han Chinese, Miao Chinese etc. USSR wanted an independent Mongolia as buffer between the borders. China got the better of the deal by partitioning Inner Mongolia out of Mongolia. Today there're more than 20 million people in Inner Mongolia province and less than 3 million people in independent Mongolia.

well, the answer if 100% NO!!!

but..., unless..one possiblities if... communist china start to invade all the south china sea spartley islands, and if our neighbours start to fight with the PLA with their navies, a near possibilities of a conflict with the PLA navies.

if the outcome is not that worst, maybe Asean members will seek help from the U.S, and a peace treaty come in place.

or another outcome is, the U.S support the Asean members to send navies to take back their islands.

a full scale war might not be possible... maybe navies war.unless communist china missile start to rain on cilvilian ships.... and cause a full scale diplomat war...

then also need china to really go overboard as in ..attacking the navies of Asean members, then maybe a united force with U.S and taiwan.. might be possible.

what i would like to see ... is... communist china go overboard and destory Asean navies!!! i think a great chance to overthrow communist is by them making the first move to invade taiwan and Asean..

then it will be that chance to uprise in china.....

overthrow the communist and form a new republic of china...

i think our Lee and Lee will support the Aseans and U.S and go against the Communist China.

Reason is simple, we are surrounded by Aseans and not China.Any interest to go with will be within Asean and not in China.We can't anger our Asean members and support china nor can we be in a neutral mode if a full scale war with communist china really happen.

and also, we are part of the Commonwealth and so, that mean we must have our interest with the british and U.S allies and not with communist china, communist korea.

communist china is no fool too.they know a full scale war with japan, taiwan and Asean will only bring their rule in china an early exit...

Exactly! Singapore is host to US navies at Changi and provide logistic support for their airforce at Paya Lebar. Though these places are secure, sure there are PRCs PR working there permanently or contract workers who can provide the movements of these sensitive craft. There are also countless US firms in Singapore involved in productions of strategic parts.

Remember, Chinese workers or spies got lots of information from the west to build their nuclear weapons and space technology. Watch out even the canteen operators or the PRCs who clear your tables.

Bottom line is - do not trust the communist completely. Those who try to ride the tigers will end up in their belly.

If Singapore goes to war with China, it's not hard to predict who will win. We have many useless officers and men like that Captain Goh but luckily they are in the minority of our excellent fighting force.
