You might want to consider the wider picture and agenda here.
The events during and after GE 2011 suggest that LHL might not be fully in control of his party. For example, he started off very strongly with the salary review for Ministers. The watered down version which was finally implemented does not seem to be what he had in mind. Ditto for what he wanted to do with regard to the FT policy.
So far, a lot of what he says he wants to do seems to end up being completely different when implemented.
I have a hypothesis that there is a hidden group whose agenda is to force LHL into early retirement. To do this, they have started a campaign to show that LHL is a weak leader.
LHL answered the challenge of this hidden group rather loudly by stating clearly that he has no intention of retiring early.
The play is still in progress but a key milestone would be GE 2016 where the group hopes the following will happen:
1) Fall of 1 more GRC
2) A drop in the popular vote to below 55%
If this can be achieved, there would then be a strong case for LHL to step down and make way for a new PM who can "save" the PAP.

as PM, he has all the facts , data, statistics, everything he needs to make decisions...why is he asking ordinary people to give him their ideas? such a waste of time and resources. as the PM..he must just make the decision and lead...dont be wishy washy...that's a bad leader
