Delighted to welcome Bulgarian President Rumen Radev to Singapore.
While interactions between our two countries have been limited, this visit marks a promising step toward unlocking the untapped potential in our relationship. Opportunities abound in areas such as trade and investment, research collaboration, as well as cultural and educational exchanges.
May this visit pave the way for closer ties between Bulgaria and Singapore!

Spent a meaningful evening yesterday to celebrate #PAP70 and also to recognise our dedicated activists who give their all to serve. Their actions touch the lives of fellow Singaporeans in countless ways.
The event was a reaffirmation of our shared purpose to move #ForwardTogether, and to build a fairer, more equal, and more inclusive Singapore.

An exciting showdown in the chess world is unfolding right here in Singapore, as reigning world champion Ding Liren defends his title against Gukesh Dommaraju.
From my community visits, I’ve noticed a growing interest in chess amongst young Singaporeans. Hope this competition will motivate them to deepen their passion and realise their fullest potential for the game!

I am here on my introductory visit to Thailand. Looking forward to engaging Thai leaders to strengthen the bilateral partnership, ahead of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year.

Concluded a short but productive visit to Thailand. I had good meetings with Prime Minister Ing Shinawatra and her team, and look forward to advancing cooperation in the new areas we discussed. Also got the chance to learn more about Thai culture, especially in silk weaving, traditional handicrafts and food. Didn’t see Moo Deng and Ava this time, but I’m sure there will be opportunities to do so in the future!

Welcomed World Trade Organization - WTO Director-General (DG) Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to Singapore for her first official visit. Glad to catch up with her so soon after our last meeting a few weeks ago at the G20 Summit in Brazil.
The multilateral trading system is coming under pressure as rising geopolitical tensions, economic protectionism and shifts in global power dynamics challenge the foundation of international trade. Amidst these pressures, all countries will have to work even harder to strengthen and reform the WTO - to tackle the complexities of modern trade issues like digital and green trade, and to create a level global playing field. Failure to do so will only contribute to a more dangerous and fragmented world.

Woke up this morning with a bad sore throat. This comes after the recent stretch of overseas work trips.
Initially I thought it might just be a normal flu bug. But I just took a test to be sure. Turns out, I’ve finally succumbed to COVID after all these years!
I’m feeling fine overall, and will self-isolate while working from home. As we enter the holiday season, many of you will be traveling. Remember to stay updated on your flu shots and vaccinations. If you’re feeling unwell, wear a mask and take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and those around you. Stay safe, and happy holidays to all!

70-year-old Singaporean, Paul Lim made history by reaching the World Darts Finals. Though he didn’t take the top spot (he came in second), his journey to the finals was nothing short of extraordinary.
Paul has proved that age is no barrier to greatness. His unwavering spirit is a reminder to persevere and never give up, no matter the obstacles; and to keep chasing our dreams with hard work and determination.

Strong kampung spirit, good neighbours, close community bonds. These are attributes that make Singapore a strong and united society. That’s why we can face the future with confidence— our solidarity is our greatest asset in navigating an uncertain future.

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Archbishop Emeritus Nicholas Chia, the first Singaporean-born clergy to be appointed.
A devoted shepherd and steadfast pillar of the Catholic community, his unwavering faith, humility, and compassion enriched many lives.
My deepest condolences to the Catholic community.
