STOMPer Growiser was greeted by the sight of floodwaters at Boon Lay Way at about 8.25am, as he made his way to work.

A drain along Boon Lay Way (going towards Jurong West Street 51) had overflowed, and flooded the pedestrian walkway and left lane.

Growiser observed pedestrians walking through ankle-high water.

Traffic was heavier than usual, as vehicles manoeuvred through the floods.

STOMPER Wywy came across these "fountains" - water gushing out from under drain covers near OCBC Centre at Boat Quay. The STOMPer was afraid the covers might be dislodged and hurt commuters who use this busy walkway every morning.

Wywy said over the phone:

"I saw this scene at 9am, as I was on my way to work.

"I work at One George Street, in the building beside the OCBC Centre.

"This walkway is usually very busy with commuters because of where it is located.

"Firstly, it's the drop-off area, where vehicles drive through to allow passengers to alight.

"Secondly, many people have to cut across this walkway when making their way to Raffles Place after leaving Clarke Quay MRT Station from the Hong Lim exit.

"I was worried the covers might just shoot up due to the water pressure coming from below them."

It's obvious to me, the gov't in Spore is on auto pilot.

If you expect real people to look at the people's problem you must vote wisely & not for a bunch of elites stuck in their ivory towers

I heard that the clouds and skies over our little island were fined for inability to control precipitation.. :D

I'm very surprised that no minister has said at least the floods are not as bad as those in China. Have they changed their stance of always using the worst possible case to say that whatever is happening here is nothing?

Not since they started paying themselves the world's highest government salaries by a long way.

They realize no explanation given is also OK !
