These were also previously upgraded under the MUP, said the STOMPer.

Wrote LK:

"HDB's latest announcement on the Redhill Close flats today is different from previous SERs sites.

"The precinct announced today for SERs at Redhill Close was previously upgraded by HDB with the addition of an utility room at the kitchen.

"I believe this is the first time a HDB precinct which was upgraded under the Main Upgrading Programme (MUP) a few years ago is chosen for SERs.

"Many residents may have been made to pay for the upgrading of the additional utility room at that time.

"And today, the announcement only proves something: Even if the flat is upgraded with an additional utility room, HDB will eventually have the say whether these upgraded units will be acquired.

"It is sad to see people lose their flats, though a new replacement flat is offered nearby.

"So, a flat that is upgraded under the MUP could still be selected for en bloc.

"Estates like Bukit Ho Swee could be the next target, as many 3-room flats were upgraded with the addition of utility rooms but the blocks are sitting on prime land now.

"It is quite a shock that upgraded flats are also chosen for en bloc."

PAP obviously don't care about their supporters: Bishan, Rochore & now Redhill. So who's next

You never actually own a HDB flat. You merely look after it for the next government.

That place belongs to Tanjong Pagar GRC. With that Old Fart still having a pulse, the residents couldn't vote.

Also, I predict that the rent of shops and hawker centre stalls nearby would increase after the en bloc.

Another prediction: the new flats built will shrink in size. Prices, on the other hand, won't shrink.

That's no surprise because everyone knows that PAP is all about increases

I predict they will demolish & replace with one of those tall monstrosities, 35+ stories building

Looking at what happened to the old National Library, people really shouldn't be surprised at the PAP's cavalier attitude. Just less than a year after an expensive$$ renovation, the old National Library was torn down to make way for a road

This was a historical building & some architects submitted alternative designs that would have save the old building. Of course the world class PAP knows better & went ahead to demolish the NLB
