1. Violence is not tolerated in Singapore. Best is to talk & discuss to resolve issues than to resort to violence. Self-defense may not be a mitigating factor to a judge when both are equally to be blamed for violence against each other.
2. Based upon the video, when a fight erupts, walk away, or if directly involved, DO NOT lay a finger on the aggressor, but take the punches. lay down & call for ambulance & police assistance. Usually in such cases, it is a civil matter, & the one who did not fight back often wins the case regardless if the aggressor was provoked or not, as provocation is not a mitigating factor.
3. Especially for foreign workers who fight, our laws are very strict - once caught fighting, their employment pass would be revoked & can never work in Singapore again.
4. Should one meet an aggressor/bully like the big sized Indian, follow thru point 1 to 3. However, some may be unreasonable, & if there is NO where to run, then DO NOT FEAR just because he seem bigger size :-
a) No matter how big, there will be weaknesses - his knees, as it would had been strained by carrying that body fat, muscles, mass & bones over years.
b) Dodge, make a feint to one side, & kick him hard on his kneecap with one's foot which would be wearing a safety shoe with steel toe cap. Then kick his other kneecap to double confirm.
c) once he bend downs in pain, kick his face hard. He would be laying on the floor now.
d) Pause, & ask him to submit & apologize. If he refuses, & tries to stand up, do not give him that chance, but kick his face again till he apologize or till police arrives & each gives statements. Should one can prove all peaceful efforts were made to avoid violence but there was no where to run, a judge would decide favourably towards a bullied victim than for the bully.
'Do not do unto others what you do not want others want to do unto you' is just a basic GOLDEN RULE that saw Civilization rose , progress & evolved from jungles & caves barbaric rules...
