Still got KTPH, SKGH, jit tua too loh kun choo! Steady lah!

A&E busy means what?

A&E is always busy one lah. And we routinely get days when it is so busy they will advise public and ambulance to go other hospitals.

If they said A&E inundated with covid cases that is a different issue.

No lah. That will never happen. It would be illegal for the A&E to do that. No clinic or hospital can reject a patient.
Sometimes clinic side may think is faster to diagnose certain conditions as clinic turnaround time for blood test and diagnostic will take a few days KNN under this kind of condition they will advise patient to go a&e directlee KNN but the thing is a&e may have other opinions and treat the patient as non critical.

Dont think it is turnaround time that is the issue. It is cost.

You go clinic. This test that test all pay individual or under a panel. $$$$ plus X-ray ultrasound? Wah V expensive liao. Or do stitching for laceration T&S take time and how much can clinic charge? Patient will say wah clinic only want to charge $100.

Otherwise cases that should go A&E quite clear cut lah.

A&E is not just about "critical" cases. Some cases need to exclude. Eg appendicitis? cholecystitis? How? Need U/S or CT scan. High clinical suspicion. Or chest pain.....maybe PE? Or leg swelling with possible DVT? Critical? No. But need urgent assessment and conclusive diagnosis if possible.

Good lah.

You talk to the hospital admin people. They expect the A&E to be busy and well utilized. If it is quiet and drs and nurses sitting around doing nothing they will be more worried. Seriously!

A&E busy maybe is many people with mild symptoms but worried is covid?

Have to look more at how many patients need in patient care. Admitted. And also ICU cases.

over 800 hospital admission due to COVID with about 75 requiring oxygen supplementation and about 9 in ICU.

that’s slightly over 6.9% of all the hospital beds in Sinkiestan!
