Singapore Malays are different from Malaysians.
Singapore Malays from even before 1965 were entrepreneurial and prospered. They owned many large businesses and lands.
Discrimination and racism by both LKY and the majority race ended all that.
 
Former Malaysian PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi urged Malays to embrace meritocracy and give up the "crutches" of special govt aid. Under the affirmative action programme, Malays are given economic, education and other benefits to help narrow the wealth gap with the ethnic Chinese. The then PM said: "We must embrace meritocracy positively and view it as an opportunity to gain dignity for the community by proving we can achieve success on our own merit." The fact that this still has not happened is because every PM after him knows that Malays simply cannot compete on a level-playing field with the other races.

I have Malay colleagues in management and others in my organization who drive to the office. Meritocracy made them work hard to obtain their degrees and work their way up the corporate ladder.

That's where you're wrong again. If there were real meritocracy min Singapore, these Malay colleagues of yours would be sitting in the highest office and you'd be reporting to him.

Chink hr, CECAkroach hr, Chinese towkays, ahbeng managers and supervisor will always pick Malays last, if ever. Then there is the salary disparity. Chink will be paid more even when they're doing the same job.

I ever employed malays because they can accept lower pay than local chinks and indians. It was a bad choice that I regretted, you get what you pay. Besides performance, they have other issues such as the frequency of MC very high and in a year father or mother hospitalized several times and have to take urgent leaves. The urgent leaves can be no pay leaves as they have consumed all their leaves. You get what you paid for.

I don't know why my pinoy staff who are of the same polynesian lineage as malays are more rajin and dedicated. religion could be.

I've had subordinates of various races who underperforms, to an extent that their colleagues were begging me to terminate them. Did I take the easy way out. I would if I were the incompetent boss that doesn't know how to manage.
For every such case, I would convince and make their colleagues buy in to the idea that their presence and competency would eventually make our lives easier. A slow process of identifying the issues and gaps that need covering. None were terminated and everybody was happy at the end of it.
Let's face it, you're just a lousy clueless leader.
