What's pork knuckle? That's something new to me. Pigs have trotters with hoofs. The hoofs can't be flexed, how to form knuckles?

I really don't know why they call this pork knuckles but in German its Schweinshaxe. I am sure you had eaten this perhaps you call it Schweinshaxe but layman like me its simply pork knuckles.

Merry Christmas Zeddy, you're not on duty today? Talking about cold beer I guess this is as cold as it can get, its called snow beer here because when pouring very cold beer in this icy glass the beer freezes up turning into something like snow. Thais call this beer hima (hima = snow)

Same same, its a rough beer but then I like it during songkrang, summer, especially in the hot Isaan village (no aircon) where temperature between 38 - 41 degC can drink this whole day with lots of ice, next day continue so never experience headache. :p

Zeddy, talking about 6th Ave. There is a pub/rest. at the junction of 6th avenue and bukit timah road. This pub is a favorite of the marine/shipbuilding guys especially the ABS guys. Pub even put up your name on the walls if you break a beer drinking record. Wonder if the pub still around?

Ram, think it's call Khar Moo (Pig Leg) in Thai. Depending on where you go, if roadside stall, then it is the stew Khar Moo. But if western restaurant, it should be the BBQ one.

No choice lah. Only 2 color available, black or white. Which one you choose? side box cannot lah, you want me to become most 'obiang' uncle in Pattaya?

Yeah, still red license plate despite riding for 4 months and clocking 1200 km. Hybrid only take 1 month to convert from red to white. Good news is shop told me that my scoopy-I will be consider 2012 registered instead of 2011. :*:

Choburi this is the 1st time I heard of the pub at Bkt Timah.. Afraid I have never been to that pub before.. Sometimes I would get my mountain bike fixed at this good bike shop there though..Me and my colleagues and my Ang Moh captain used to go to The Cavern at Sembawang back then.. Will try to check out this Bkt Timah pub one day..

I am alone on the mountain now drinking after reading your reply I suddenly damn miss Singapore drinking with my mates. Have a good one zeddy. By the way I also damn sad because my dog last evening hospitalised again. She is in and out of consciousness and is pumped with antibiotics. Spoken to doctor this evening and told be that she is improving today. Suffered a seizure yesterday and this morning. She is well taken care of by maid and maid WhatsApp photos to me every few hours.

What mountain? How come you on mountain? My friends cheong Thailand recently. I cant join them because of medical. Flood water and cold weather no good for my leg. Mountain also no good for my leg. Haiz, old NS injury.

Khao Yai National Park (a world heritage site). Its just 2hrs drive from Bkk. Hell here no need to walk la can drive all the way to any resort door step. Sabhai Sabhai.

Oh I came here alone to unwind, relax, reflect and most importantly to get in touch with oneself. I do this a few times a year. Need a break from everything for realignment one's plans and vision of stuffs.

This is what I woke up wit this morning. Its 9 degC in this location of Khao Yai, very very cold for me. Now having a bowl of hot minced park porridge, khao-tom-moo-sup.


My iPhone didn't do justice to the actual scene. But its very beautiful. The farmland you see are mostly corn after harvested.
