Normally I go for the PB Dum Briyani at Tekka Centre

Tks for the recommendation.
Dunno why their signboard says RB Dum Briyani.

There is quite a numbers of Briyani stalls at Tekka Cente

This is the entire write-up from www.burgernbacon.com.
They also call it PB.

PB Dum Briyani (Biryani)

PB Dum Briyani (Biryani)

To be honest, I didn't come to Tekka Centre for PB Dum Briyani. In fact, I didn't even know about it. But, their sign caught my attention. "The one & Only Dum Briyani Cooked in Olive Oil" Ok, I am sold. I don't want to add more bodyweight by having ghee filled biryani. I guess olive oil will make it healthier. (I am delusional)

It might not be the best, but it is definitely above average. This biryani stall definitely deserves a shout out. It does taste lighter, but it is not necessarily a bad thing. I love how the light and fluffy basmati rice goes so well with the mutton.

However, I have 2 very critical kid nephews (10 years and 13 years old) who will rate this as average. Maybe as you grew older, you will prefer lighter flavours.

Mutton Biryani

6. Old Punggol Satay

Satay lovers, rejoice – Alexandra Village has a great spot for satay too! At Old Punggol Satay, you’ll never have to worry about dry meat in your satay, because the meat used here is consistently juicy and moist, with a deliciously charred exterior. Additionally, their satay sauce here is quite unique, with pineapple paste mixed in with the peanut sauce. This gives it a sweet tang and complements the sweet marinade of the satay meat well!

Easily recognisable by their signature dark sauce blanketing the entire dish, Lau Phua Chay Authentic Roast Delicacies is yet another must-try spot in Alexandra Village Hawker Centre. Their char siew (roasted pork) has a nice char, without being burnt to the point of being too bitter. There is a good ratio of fat to meat, making the meat tender and juicy. The chunks of char siew are sizeable, unlike some of the paper-thin slices that are served in other places nowadays.

Also, be sure to try out their sio bak (crispy roasted pork belly), which gives a great crunchy texture despite being drenched with their specialty sauce. A plate of char siew with sio bak and egg is only $4.30, a great steal for such a portion of well-roasted meats!

8. Hor Fun Premium

At Hor Fun Premium, the usual flat rice noodles are elevated with the ultimate wok hei flavour. The silky gravy pairs well with the aromatic wok hei the noodles carry, giving the simple dish an amazingly complex flavour. A big plate of hor fun with generous servings of thinly-sliced beef only costs $4.50, and stays true to Singapore’s good and affordable hawker culture.

9. Pu Tian Delights

Tucked in a corner of the hawker centre, Pu Tian Delights is one of the hidden gems of this famous food spot. With an extensive menu, they serve up authentic Heng Hwa cuisine at affordable prices. Restaurants serving up the same cuisine tend to be on the pricey side, and thus it’s with great relief that this stall’s food is of great quality and flavour.

Their Putian Lor Mee is a steady bestseller, with its rich seafood broth and silky, chewy noodles. The Xing Hwa Bee Hoon is another must-try, as a signature dish of the cuisine.

A visit to Alexandra Village Hawker Centre definitely won’t be complete without a cup of Avocado juice! With many different stores in the vicinity, it may be difficult to settle on one. We recommend trying King Avocado – with well-blended fresh avocadoes and an adequate amount of gula melaka, their Avocado juice is not overpoweringly sweet, and deliciously creamy. It may all come down to personal preference, but the nice balance struck between sweet, rich and smooth here will definitely be well appreciated!
