Apparently the runway at Ohakea is not long enough to take the RSAF F-15. The previous users of this NZ airbase were their A-4 Skyhawk, which requires a much shorter runway, therefore in order for the RSAF to use it, sinkie taxpayers will have to pay to lengthen the base as well as construct new housing for 500 personnel.
