I spoke to a saleman friend working in a reputable electronics store in Singapore. He said looks like, PC and Laptop sales are like in a decade-low in this calendar year (so far), a sharp contrast of just a year ago. He never experienced such massive slowdown before.

Cannot be overnight (within a year) everyone decided to use Ipad, buying from Apple directly right?

3 letters - SSD. In the recent years, most laptops are fitted with SSDs. These things hardly slow down even after 3-4 years, compared to spinning HDD. The only thing that will deteriorate fast enough to warrant a change of laptop is the battery.

The PC laptop is not an essential.
The price of PC and lap Top has been too high. What's the cost of producing a single Lap top ? They should be more sensitive. They should encourage people to trade in their used laptop with a high price and purchase a new one.

My touch screen SSD laptop keep going for updates.
When it goes update, it stay stationery for a good 20 to 30 minutes. The problem is that it keep going for Windows 10 update.

What kind of OS is this ????????????????????

Thanks for your insight. He is not highly-educated but I did think about what you said.

It could be due to PIC Bonus. PIC Bonus ended on Dec 2017. PIC was a meaningless policy that SME towkays like John Tan exploited for buying Iphones and computers.

My company got professionals to clone my laptop HDD into SSD. So we didn't get new companies and we are still using Windows 7

Our Greedy govt takes first place...when i used medisave to pay for my chronic disease medication at Polyclinic, i was charged $3 processing fees to process the deductions from my medisave account...

Where on earth you have such a govt that wants to make every cents from U.??

no lah..........they build condos on top of the mall..............anyway, there are other dead malls in the area..............

City Plaza (long dead since the 80's)...........Tanjong Katong Complex (dead from day 1)...........then 2 more new malls at Paya Lebar MRT..................the older of the 2 also quiet from day 1........
