I just want to relate a story since we're on the topic of personal internet grievances.

Many years ago in the old sammyboy forum, there was an obviously Singaporean nick arguing with a troll who was taking on the persona of an Ang Mo who despised Asians in general and Sinkees in particular.

The "Ang Mo" called the Singaporean "you SEEDY YELLOW PERIL!"

The Singaporean retorted "HAHAH! You Ang Mo think your England is so damn good! You think I don't know what peril means? Peril means DANGER! Are you trying to say I am in danger?? You don't even make sense, and you are Ang Mo?!!? HAHAHAH"

People who were watching at the sidelines shook their heads in sadness and I'm sure more than a few said a few words of prayer for all singaporeans.

Actually in that context there's nothing wrong in using yellow peril. It's correct.

The reason I started this flame thread on Ramseth is because I want to have a swipe at him for his arrogant remarks about how he goes around upping other people and publicly announcing it.

If you are really sincere about expressing your appreciation for others' contribution is there a need to go around bragging loudly "hey i upped you!" or "good post, man, I up your pts!"

This to be is not sincerity, its just angling for other people to up your pts in return.

Recently, there was one day when I logged into the forum, and noticed that there were 3 nicknames doing that.
Found that very interesting.

Some people seem stuck to the good old days and will resist changes. They are selfish and do not see any need nor do they wish to cooperate to make this forum a much better place for all. The PAP sees they need to change with the times, as the old formula appears not to be working as before.

Why can't the senior members see beyond themselves and get the big picture? Even if they do not want to post in the moderated folder, they have this folder to post. The reasons given are so weak it holds no water. They just want things to remain static and as I said earlier, they are selfish and quite ignorant about what this forum is all about. In fact, truth be told, if they do not know why they need to have so many rep points and the reasons given is so infantile, I rest my case.
