This is no big deal in China and India. Humans are banged over. The issue here is we are giving some animal more rights than a typical Singaporean. If a PAP man hits a dog, would he get so much problems. What about people like Durai and other corruption cases among the PAP gang?

If it is true that Remy hit and run ( left the accident scene and was well away , i.e from one end to another ) until he found out he was being pursued by members of the public and later discovering his car number plate missing before coming back to accident scene , then he should really pray hard for forgiveness . It may be a dog , but she's pregnant and by not checking out after hitting her which is likely to cause some noise and loud crash sound , he is quite ruthless. I heard a muslim actually attended to the dying dog which is very noble of him , since muslims refrain from getting near dogs and yet he comforted the poor animal in her last moments.
Hopefully, success in life will not lead a person to be boastful and arrogant . All human and animal lives are just as important , we should give respect to all. It's not easy to get over such an experience of killing a dog/cat on the road due to our own rashness , it will keep haunting us for the rest of our life unless we have no feelings for anything.
