While I'm not sure about your articulation skills, but if you had taken some courses in engineering related subjects it might help you sort out your life a bit. (as they consist of mostly problem solving disciplines). The cheapest way to do it would be probably to take up a course in programming.

Anyway, writing 10,000 word essays is nothing. What's more challenging is to face a customer and answer his queries. Now that's really requires some quick thinking.

Now you see my bad points. Hey how else do you think literature majors write 10000 word essays just like that during exams?

Actually, i did do very basic programming before. What you are saying is the need to do a life audit or make a decision tree to map out the situations, like the if-then-else progamming etc.

You know what Love is? It is the "Infinite Loop" in programming. (Hope my analogy is correct, i really only know very basic programming). I can give in a lot, and the ex only freezes. Both of us are caught in our personal Infinite Loops. Sigh.

Love isn't logical. You can list down a million reasons why you shouldn't be with a person, but at the end of the day, if you still love him or her, it overides everything. :p
