These FTsh are here in this tiny red dot because they are not wanted elsewhere. No top talent FTsh would choose SG. We get scraps of the barrel.
So, is it a mistake to put LKY son in charge? He is a scholar, a military general and comes from the best genes SDU has to offer.
Can't go wrong ... RIGHT?
LKY feels that a comfortable population for SG is 4.4m
you are right. despite what the pap has "derogatorised" australia, their skilled training is excellent. i have seen tradesmen and builders who are skilled, productive and do excellent jobs.
something wrong with SG's education system?
sit back and run through the posts again.
what have you contributed to the discussion?
Increase of population should come from within the country and not from influx of FTsh. Underlying causes of low birth rate should be solved. Importing foreigners to replace locals is like handing over the country to people without patriotism, loyalty and allegiance to the nation. Silent invasion?
that was well governed SG
I'm trying to cheer everyone up and point out to them that life is actually very good in Singapore and that all those who complain should snap out of their "doom and gloom" perspective of life and live life to the fullest instead.
I was there for a couple of weeks over the festive season. I had a great time. The government has done wonders for the country. It is clean and green and full of exciting places to wine and dine. One of my old schoolmate buddies took me for ride in his Bentley and showed me the latest additions to the Orchard Road / Marina Bay area.
I asked him how on earth he could afford such an extravagant set of wheels. His answer was that the government had grown the economy considerably over the last few years and he was on a roll with turnover more than doubling over the last 3 years.
I then asked him whether he'd prefer the peace and quiet of NZ. He laughed and said that the turnover he could achieve in Singapore was 3 times more than what a similar sized company would do in Auckland. I had to agree. The NZ economy is like a backwater compared to dynamic Singapore.
Singaporeans are very lucky to have such good leadership.

One man's success does not mean the good life is shared by average wage earners in SG too. Talk to the man in the street. Hear his frustrations. Your friend is sitting in the ivory tower.
Who opened the floodgates to FTs?
Evict that person to Perth, to join ex NTUC yummy Cheong and yuckky Anton.
Someone needs to take the blame.

The problem is not with the PAP. It lies in the fact that Singaporeans don't want to be builders, plumbers and carpenters. They view these vocations as beneath their dignity.
when things go wrong everyone starts pointing fingers.
the policy was discussed at cabinet level and approved. However, they forgot to discuss the increased hospital beds, increased housing, increased transportation needed etc when the floodgate opens. the whole PAP cabinet is liable and negligent. but one man must take the bulk of the blame...the PM
Many years ago, I had an argument with an Ang Moh boss over our "workers" standard. I witnessed in US a workcrew of two operating machinery installing an industrial floor surface. After reading my report, this boss commented that in Singapore, you will need university grads to do this work, whereas in US, high school students could do it. I was quite disturbed by his comments. But I have to agree with him, their skilled tradesmen do not have similar equivalents in Singapore.
Cheers!
OK. So the PM is responsible. But his brother like Perth more than him.
Not sure what happened to Yang's Australian mistress, but I have not seen him for a while.
