Better la I say cos Singapore govt hospitals got not enuff beds for Singaporeans anymore. My ailing grandma had to lie on her bed in the hospital lobby at Tan Tock Seng earlier this year. Reason is that there is insufficient rooms for her. Wah... is this how we treat our "Pioneer Citizens? Or Pioneers Slaves? Highest paid in the world.. so what??
Heard of 2 similar experiences with their ailing fathers waiting by the hospital corridor because of lack of beds. It's quite degrading. They over admit new Singaporeans without ensuring our infrastructure can take it.
Well, if you believe the previous Health Minister, he said the reason is we have an ageing population and this is expected. Also, please keep ourselves healthy. (I think he made those remarks near Chinese New Year this year)
I doubt the government cares much. All those Pioneer Generation advertisements we see in the newspapers and TV are just propaganda at best. They want to make us think that they have the elderly in mind. Actually, to them, making more and more money seems to take on a higher priority. At the end of the day, if we can attract more rich foreigners and give them citizenship, Singapore will be a richer place. And so will the government. That's what matters to them. Commoners who can't afford the lifestyle here will just have to slowly fall behind.
The fact that they allow Medisave to be used in Medini is already showing they are asking the lower class citizens to find their way out here to get treatment. Of course, one has to deal with the inconvenience of travel, terrible causeway jams, unfamiliar environment, untested doctors, and possibly no smooth or consistent follow up of the medical case.
Should not be when it comes to health.
Can safely say doctors from Singapore would be setting up alternative clinics in Gleneagles Medini. They would be referring patients from Singapore side. Same doctor, same Medisave and lower hospital cost. Medical tourism at work here. Good news for short term service apartments.
On the contrary No... I was surprised too. I asked several of my doctor friends and some of them never even heard of Gleneagles Medini! They won't cross over. I didn't ask further. Maybe it's the inconvenience or the pay simply isn't attractive.
It is those specialist doctors in private practice who would do this. Not those who is on payroll.

Ringgit turns South again - looks like a miserable finish to the year for oil, so I'll take the chance to convert some SGD near Christmas. Maybe it gets weaker, maybe not, but 3.1 seems pretty good to me.

I tot this pricing is pretty inline and reasonable.. cos my Marc Residence KLCC on 33rd floor KLCC k only command MYR7k+
Dont think PH owners ( esp those who paid 30% down ) will struggle to pay instalements or rent out cheap. In this part of Nusajaya there is no such thing as inflated bank loan or zero downpayment etc. Those who purchased those type will see more lelong units ( esp Sunsuria Shoplots I heard from my friend who is earning RM 6000 a month buying a shoplot @ RM 1.8m with zero downpayment )
When TOP the instalment will be about RM 8000 a month. Expect some lelong spree. Sunway Iskandar also. These are developments where we see most local buyers who are earning ringgits and expecting to flip upon TOP.

Tell this to those thousands of motorists struck in Tuas or Woodlands Checkpoints with fumes coming from all directions. The SG govt tried for many years.. including painting Johor Bahru as the Criminal Hub of Asia, and putting all their most useless and retarded civil servants to oversee checkpoints and make sure 3 hours jams are the norm.
And the SG govt failed miserably. Sporeans are flocking into Malaysia and spending like Kings. I was struck in the jam while returning to Singapore via Tuas @ 3am just now. Good thing is that jam lastly "only" 30 minutes

They would check passports and...cigarettes, fuel, etc...just to make sure taxes stay back in Spore. They would do just about everything to make sure their people are bordered in this borderless world. It is all about money and economy. Don't blame them.
