The Police set up a booth to educate the residents on crime prevention activities, especially loan-sharking activities. We also have with us representatives from AIC to generate awareness for CHAS program.

Doodling session was brought to the children, courtesy from NCMP Mr Yee Jenn Jong. Look out for the next 'Tea With Li Lian' which will come to your neighbourhood soon.

MP Ms Lee Li Lian was on site to witness the destruction of ballot papers for BE 2013. Under the Parliamentary Elections Act, ballot papers and other documents used in the election will be sealed and retained in safe custody for 6 months after which they will be destroyed unless otherwise directed by order of the President.

This is to ensure secrecy of the votes.

Sequence of events:
1. Candidates who wish to witness the proceedings will have to inform the Elections Department by 25th July 2013.
2. Candidates arrived at the Supreme Court by 8.50am and were brought to the safe to inspect the ballot boxes.
3. Sealed boxes containing ballot papers and other documents used will be transported from Supreme Court to Tuas South Incinerator Plant.
4. A convey of vehicles consisting of police, staffs from Election Department and candidates will follow the truck to Tuas South Incinerator Plant.
5. Ballot boxes will be thrown into the hopper for destruction.
