“Workers' Party (WP) chief Low Thia Khiang on Thursday emphasised that his party takes a lot of care in screening and selecting its candidates. Besides having stringent criteria, the party also makes it a point to scrutinise its candidate over a period of time.”


Dr Poh Lee Guan had been thoroughly screened by Low Thia Khiang and his set of very stringent criterias not once, not twice but thrice.

So the good people of Hougang who like to support WP should go ahead and vote for Dr Poh who had been Low's closest comrade since 2001.

Unlike Png, who only joined the party in 2006, he is less screened and scrutinised under the WP stringent criterias and is an unknown quantity.

It is a much safer bet for HG voters to support Dr Poh.

This one was in JBJ's time when candidate screening was nonexistent within WP and candidates were found 12 hrs prior to nomination as two party members drive round the island trying to persuade people to stand.
