https://give.asia/campaign/give-alfonso-a-chance-to-wake-up#/
Alfonso is from Philippines and he’s also holding a PR status in Singapore. He had been working in Singapore for more than 10 years.
On the fateful night 16 December, he suddenly fell in his home, and luckily his housemate was at home at that time, and they immediately rush him to the nearest hospital, Changi General Hospital.
The doctor diagnose that Alfonso had suffered a stroke and there’s serious damage near his brain steam. CT scan had shown that there’s bleeding at his brain portion which control most of the brain function. He is still in a coma, and doctor did say that the chances of him waking up will depend entirely on his own will.
Based on the surgery of the scan, the surgeon and doctor mentioned that his recovery period is very slow. If he is able to wake up, he will only be able to stare at you, he won’t be able to feed himself, showering or walk for the time being.
He may be bed bound for a long time and will require a lot of dedication to help him and if course, his family in Philippines are very worried for him, both in terms of his health as well as financially. do much.
Alfonso is all alone here in Singapore. His entire family are in Philippines, and his parents are both retirees, and within his family of 4 sibling, only himself and his sister are working, which supports the entire family, hence, this will be a very big impact on them as well.
Even though he’s a PR, but not his entire bills are subsidised, so there’s the non-subsidised portion that have to be paid by Alfonso, and at this stage, he will not be able to.
Funds raised will be paid directly to Changi General Hospital for Alfonso’s medical bills.
This campaign has received government assistance.
Partial subsidies due to his PR status.
