May the families of the deceased stay strong during this difficult times.

Somehow I would imagine that the driver could be driving down Jln Kayu Manis at a high speed, turning left into Nutmeg Road, lost control of his vehicle and hit the group of people before breaking the railings and falling onto the road below. Quite unlikely to be on Nutmeg Rd and then making a sharp right swerve to result in this accident, right?

Yes, probably driving down Jln Kayu Manis at a high speed, turning left onto Nutmeg Road, lost control of his vehicle. Was there a Honda SUV that had brake problems?

another possible speeding down from Nutmeg , jaywalker dashed across the road.

If the driver had been using a PMD instead none of this carnage would have occurred.

This is why we need to crack down on car ownership and encourage PMD use.

agreed. pmd one hit at most one killed.

speeding car one hit ~ many deaths.

If that driver had been on a PMD and had crashed through the same barrier chances are the only death would be his own and he would have deserved it.

The other issue is why he needed to make the journey by car in the first place. He was alone in the vehicle and if PMDs were allowed on the streets he could have used a PMD instead and those poor souls would still be alive today.

It is definitely time to re visit the PMD ban and adopt a more rational and less emotive approach for the benefit of all concerned.

2 people dead.

Anyway, very much traffic police fault because in China, already people are paid a reward to send videos of bad driving.

Many of these bad drivers routinely shoot Red lights, drive way too fast, side swipe cyclist, fail to give way to pedestrians, especially at zebra crossings, change lanes dangerously, speed up when others want to filter into the lane that they are in to prevent them from doing so.

LTA also has very poor cooperation and coordination with traffic police, that is why LTA hired the lynch mob/ triad members (based on their behaviour) in tring to kick down e-scooter when it should have been traffic police job to handle on road traffic offences etc.

If those who submitted videos of dangerous / careless driving resulting in significant traffic offences committed as measured by 6 or more demerit points traffic offences, then between 30-50% of the fines collected should be paid to the person who submitted the video.

All drivers will then always be safety first and not drive like hell drivers, rushing to make a quick buck at the expense of human lives.

Singapore is unwilling to impose more stringent enforcement on motorist because it is understood that motorist are usually high SES people who should be lightly sentence and are allowed to do as they please, just because they are high SES folks to begin with.

You're spot on. It's easy to ban PMDs because the people who ride them don't matter. They are low SES and obviously financially strapped or they'd be in $100,000 cars instead of on $1000 PMDs despite the fact that cars are so much more dangerous.

I dont know about you guys but I always feel a stick drive though tedious is always safer than an auto...of course pmd is safest ...rip for the victims

A car purchase contribute to the gahmen in taxes. PMD's do not.
