Singapore economy slow now, and RTS still no sight.

No offend, but my personal view is that JB property especially condo price will take a significant hit before scaling up again. Singapore economy is slowing, and RTS is not going to happen any time soon. So pretty soon, weak holders, especially those with huge bank loan, will have to cut loss. Many still have unrealistic price expectation now. I am looking at buying when the price comes to the reasonable range.

RTS is officially cancelled a few months back by MY side although SG had made provisions for the system in Woodlands North Station.

Officially cancelled? Can you post the news here? Thanks.

JOHOR BAHRU 10 Okt.
In order for Iskandar Malaysia to be competitive internationmally, it is hpeful that the Government give its attention to the public transportation system in budget 2017.

Ketua Eksekutif Pihak Berkuasa Wilayah Pembangunan Iskandar (IRDA), Datuk Ismail Ibrahim berkata, menerusi sistem pengangkutan awam yang efektif dan efisien, Iskandar Malaysia mampu menjadi perhatian pelabur.
IRDA Chief Executive, Datuk Ismail Ibrahim said a effective and efficient public transportation system would enable Iskandar Malaysia to attract investors.

A good public transportation system would not only benefit economically, it will also improve the lives of its people.

“We had presented many proposals of public transportation system to the Federal Government for Iskandar Malaysia” after officiating Geoinformatics & Geomatics Festival 2016 at UTM Unversity today.

Among the planned proposals for Iskandar Malaysia are BRT, RTS and HSR.

Apart from that, it is also hopeful that Budget 2017 give attention to housing issues especially lower 40% income group B40 and water supply which are important for the rapid development in Iskandar Malaysia.

In addition, we are hopeful our housing proposal would be considered as the population of Iskandar Malaysia would rise to 3.0 million in 2025 from 1.5 million last year.

It is also estimated 1.2 million houses wold be required in 2025 compared to 700,000 presently.

I can read both Chinese and Malay :) but the reports did not mention about aborting the SG-JB RTS project. I know SG side has commenced some engineering study. But Malaysia seems to quiet. It does look like they have no internet or will to do the project though no official words seen so far.

But looking at no action from JB side, even if it is a go, the earliest RTS readiness will be maybe 2021, definitely not 2018 as they claimed.

So you see, all the huff and puff and all the grand schemes they had been talking since 4, 5 years ago and now it's waiting for allocation from 2017 Budget. So it's equivalent to say: " Every year I want to do but every year daddy don't have money, how to do?"
Absolutely pathetic!
Never mind, for the pathetically hopefuls, wait another week for the National Budget announcement and just wait and see how much will be allocated for infrastructure for the whole country. But with substantial reductions of revenue contribution from super "Cash Rich" Petronas and huge allocations required for PMO budget, many other low priority projects will be cut or postponed so, good luck !
But on the other hand, last year the Fed had spent a lot to please the Sarawakians on the State election, they might also try to please the Johoreans in the same way for political "favor".

So is it officially cancelled?

Husband and wife went for Divorce at Court

After long discussion with wife, husband said: OK,Sir. We will come next year with 1 more kid.
9 months later, they had twins…

May be this is what you call shifting the goal posts when one is at risk of admitting a goal

Sometimes you do not need to show if others had lost as long as deep inside you know is good enough. :D

I think on the whole this living in JB forum is good place sharing infor on iskandar, it's various projects, economy and politics of Johor, malaysia, Singapore and some other understandings of China. Also, debates teach that just burying our heads in the sands(or one's imaginations) just wouldn't do.
