PAP in Town Council Scandal

Re: On mis-Aiming and Low Blows

I seriously think there is a need to investigate the full extend of this company known as AIM.

Hence, I do ask all to demand that CPIB comes into the picture to investigate any form of irregularity in the setting up and administration of the said company.

Hell lah, say so much also no use, CPIB wont even bother.

Re: News: Dr Teo says AIM was the sole bidder of its TCs Management System

Here's an idea, why not do a 'blind' bidding next time? Withhold the names of the bidding companies from the procurement folks, and just let them present their features and prices. Just call them Company A, Company B and Company C etc.

Of course, if you just want to enrich your cronies and wayang a bit before announcing a predetermined decision, then it shows what kind of people is running this country, doesn't it?

Re: On mis-Aiming and Low Blows

Can PAP money be used to develop town council software. Is there any conflict of interests. Is there legal violation. So what is the rubbish that WP can ask for extension when it is PAP software? Why must town councils use PAP softwares? Is it no corruption? Is Town Council PAP? If so, town councils must be totally destroyed. Taxpayers do not pay PAP a swindling organization. Destroy all town councils. The Town Council Act must be voided because it is the PAP citizen control act, period.

Sinkies should shut up about 'conflict of interests' when:

1. Pinky's wife has the country's finances by the balls.
2. Brompton bike business was given to a crony.
3. Zorro Lim, a PAP MP, is actually a labour union chief.

Of course, this is all within the 'legal framework' and therefore technically it is not corruption. But who makes the laws? And what good is it to follow the letter of the law but ignore the spirit of the law?

Dear Scroo

Having a press release on Xmas Eve is another sure sign of something to hide. this stinks and all but their craziest fan boys know it.

QUOTE=scroobal;1343504]This episode reeks to high heaven. You can't get rid of the smell. There are so many holes that mending them would be an onerous task..

This was done in bad faith. Despite this incident having surfaced few days ago, no one has explained the rationale for such a move. Das and Teo both cannot provide a simple reason for the change. A reason that makes sense.

Even if one assumes for the sake of argument that Sylvia, the entire WP and its appointed managing agent are completely incompetent, wholly dishonest, it still begs the reason why this sale and lease back was done.

No need for war stories? Just an acceptable reason will do.[/QUOTE]

Re: On mis-Aiming and Low Blows

The very fact that such questions are being asked shows maturing democracy in Singapore....Unca Lee once said it takes 150 years to perfect it like in UK. Look like we don't need to wait that long...

In corporate world such terms are called 'poison pills'... Example anti takeover clause.

You made a very good point. It reminds me of the NParks bike tender which was put up around CNY.

Re: On mis-Aiming and Low Blows

There is currently big distrust of whatever the gahmen does. Using an analogy by business Don Guru in a recent ST interview, the PAP has been "peeing in the pool" for a long time, or in his words, been treating its customers shabbily for a long time.

"Let's suppose you have a company with a bad reputation for service," he said. "So, there's already pee in the pool. What do you do? You cannot get rid of the pee but you can dilute it with more good activities that build trust."

Blind faith in the past has been replaced by great distrust. The beating around the bush and not answering the real questions (like who paid the $140,000 for the $2-00 company, for starters) certainly is not diluting the pee but adding in big shit instead.

In the meantime, they think we are moronic shit-heads.

Like pigs feeding off the same trough, it exposes the level of institutionalised cronyism and corruption within the PAP web of lies.

Re: News: Dr Teo says AIM was the sole bidder of its TCs Management System

The four companies who declined to submit bids would have smelt a rat when they discover (it is actually a very small, gossipy industry) that a $2-00 made up of ex-PAP MPs was among the bidders. They were smart to have withdrawn, to prevent a whitewash of the bidding process. Notice that everytime they defend their actions, they said that they complied with SOPs for the processes. Other than that, they don't have anything to hang their hat on.

What evaluations have they done on value of the the contract being issued, to decide that the bidded amount was fair?
Did they consider other avenues, like having a dedicated team to run it?
AIM is subcontracting this out, presumably - back to the original team who was looking after it?
If not, who is doing the real work?

Re: News: Dr Teo says AIM was the sole bidder of its TCs Management System

I appeal for corrective write-ins on the public disclosure to all town councils, CPIB, PMO, local and foreign press and to MHA. Let us get the ball rolling.

Re: Computer firm says town council's claim "inaccurate"

Why did Sylvia Lim misrepresented what actually happened?
Why did she choose on purpose to deceive singkies?

PAP silence on this matter is deafening. Normally if PAP has a case, they would have come out with guns blazing.

Ha!!! That's good for the oppositions. Now we get more bullets to shoot back at PAP.

Re: On mis-Aiming and Low Blows

Any investigation by an enforcement body remains confidential and there is no obligation to reveal details. The AG also can decide not to prosecute. From what has been disclosed thus far, they took the trouble to follow the rules and the law so you can't catch them out in a criminal proceeding.

The are 3 courses of action possible which will help clear the air.

1) WP thru Aljunied Town Council sues the Dr Teo and all those who participated for oppressive conduct. This requires a costly exercise and will require a SC, not because it is complex but the other side will certainly have one. WP is by nature reticent and they are afraid to spend resident's money.

2) As above but a donation drive is done to build a legal fund to help Aljunied Town Council fight this.

3) Use the court of public opinion relentlessly and demand some sort of action. The only hurdle is that the SCM is a mistress of the PAP and it is easier to train a donkey to talk then get them to play ball in a fair manner. That leaves the online netizens to lead the charge and keep the fire burning. Opposition parties can help by moving towards a focused campaign of attrition. They however less inclined as the WP is not exactly a team player.

Not one of the three option but another viable route is get a lawyer to act for resident of Aljunied. This is typically is a waste of time as it consumes time with little effective profile or publicity. Furthermore the focus is the lawyer and resident and not the issue. Partly due to SCM and partly due to the aligned party playing it up as if they won when they lost.

Re: Computer firm says town council's claim "inaccurate"

This chap was investigated by the CPIB in the 90s. Managed to 'escape'. GCT was behind him. Was he corrupt? 100%! Let me expose him ok? He used to get nightclub bills when he wasn't entertaining to make claims. My info 100% accurate.

SGP 's Samy Velu ? :(

Want to know how deep is the rabbit hole?

Just follow the money.

Anyone here keen to pool just $1 to start a company ?
All will be appointed as Directors.
We will bid for anything this fat land has to offer :D
Anyone ?
:p

Re: News: Dr Teo says AIM was the sole bidder of its TCs Management System

Why was the government upfront that AIM was owned by the PAP? So, the government is trying everyway to hamstrung the opposition-governed constituencies by starving them of tax funded resources, then the opposition wards should just go ahead and be free of the government.

If this is the case, by extension of that principle, the opposition wards can then exercise total freedom to govern...they can start their own transportation policies, ban all the activities of the PA and grassroot agencies funded by the PAP government. within the ward.

It is time for the WP to play hardball ...at least 50 percent of the taxes collected in the ward should be used solely for the ward. The people in those wards want the taxes to be used for the betterment of their lives.

The PAP has not taught through on this.

Re: Computer firm says town council's claim "inaccurate"

Is this the example which LHL was speaking about during GE, that he will spend more time fixing opposition instead of doing what he is supposed to do?

If so, I wonder what other fixes he has in store for the WP? Just a reminder for PAP. You may want to fix WP but the line between a fix and sabo is very fine. Most times you'll be the one appearing as the bad guys.

Well I must say he isn't lying when he says he wants to FIX things.

But some here says that all this isn't corrupt. Well, maybe in PAP's court of law it is not. But remember the adage, justice must appear to be done.

Like the lyrics from the late Michael Jackson's "Heal The World" song: Do it for your children.
