I agree with Kinana. I have been to Tokyo, Bangkok etc. Things are much worse there. Singapore is paradise in comparison.

Come on those that like to compare other cities with Singapore is totally thoughtless. Singapore is both a city and country which is limited in SPACE. Countries like Japan and Thailand, they have amber space in the countryside which are also considered their own.
Losers will complain about crowdedness on their way to work.
I have worked in Japan, Hong Kong, China etc before. Don't tell me Singapore is crowded.
"Ample" not "Amber". I know the two words are pronounced the same way when speaking Singlish but you need to make a distinction in the written word.
Singaporeans have the same luxury of space. They can easily visit Batam, Bintan, Ubin and JB if they want to relax.

You should explain better, "ample" is when you first sight, Lee Li Lian, "amber", is Laura relationship, with you know who. Bet you these people don't know amber from ample...
But people in Japan, HK & China were never promised, "SWISS Standard of Living" "World Class Transportation", " MORE GOOD YEARS", boasting of a Lumpar 1 in this & that & expensive , underachieving government!.

Singapore has surpassed the Swiss standard of living. It ranked number 3 last year behind Qatar and Luxembourg.
Switzerland is way behind Singapore at number 9.
If the WP was running the country, Singapore would be nowhere near the top 10.
Everyone loves to knock the PAP but if you look at all the stats, it's obvious they're doing an absolutely fantastic job. The problem with sinkies is that they take their talented government for granted.

Amber lights and ample breasts both serve as warnings of dangerous consequences if proceeded to test without due caution.
hi there
1. sammy, you must have failed your geography miserably.
2. batam, bintan and jb are not sheepishland hoh.
3. except ubin which is pretty inaccessible to many.
The same old GINI index story again. It comes up whenever Singapore's success is mentioned.
My answer is always the same. Singapore is awash with $$$$$$ and millionaires thanks to the government. However, if a portion of society are absolute losers who don't have the skills or the drive to get a nice bite of the huge pie, it is not the government's fault. It is their own fault.
Standards are set by the winners not the losers. Everyone knows who Usain Bolt is but who on earth bothers about the guy who came last and how many seconds slower he was compared to the winner?

Is it so hard to understand the difference between country and city?
