Loong rates Ong a lot for whatever reason. From a GE2011 Aljunied GRC reject to the Health Minister during a pandemic. Quite the meteoric rise within a decade.

I guess he was the designated 'rising star' in that GRC.

Usual GRC members: Anchor minister, rising star, new recruit, token minority, vagina. Kee Chiu was the 'rising star' in Tanjong Pagar GRC when LKY was still alive.

If the token minority and the vagina are combined in one person, then the vacancy is occupied by some inconsequential veteran who is on his/her way out.
