dragon-boat race at orchard road?

anyway, water = wealth, tua huat ah!

First, the highest tides (usually about 3m to 3.2m) occur on the 3rd and the 18th of the lunar month (as GMS has said).

16 Jun 2010 is the 5th day of the lunar month. It was low tide when flooding started and the highest tide that came after was a mere 2.5m at 1458h - check NEA's own website.

http://app2.nea.gov.sg/tidetime.aspx

Second, the area should not be affected by tides at all because of the great, the wonderful and the spectacular Marina Barrage! The canals are all cut off from the sea. The barrage is supposed to discharge water whenever it rises above critical levels. The Presstapo has said Marina Reservoir never hit critical. If true, why did the water not get to MR?

Is it a general drainage problem?

What about the totally unneeded diversion of Rochor Canal? That worksite looks like a disaster zone if you ask me. Could poor practices there have created the constriction that led to this shame?
When heaving rain meet the spring tide, there's bound to be flood. If the flood had happened on moday '3rd day of the lunar calender it would have been much worse"

Yeah some did say it's a 1 in 50 years affair !

It's 3 strikes at present .

This one is counted for the NEXT 50 years. This is how the politicians work. They reckon everyone is as stupid as them.

yeah..skali today another occur...then how?:D:D

It is possible. If one happens again today it will be counted for the 50 years following the next 50. No one will be counting as all would be dead and gone. Another group of stupid politcians will be bull shitting the masses again.
But if you are unfortunate to be alive still, you would not remember how to count anyway.
