old appliances brands

used to play TDK casettes in my TEAC, can use pencil poke into the hole to rewind and forward

Ya. We also had to use pencils (round pencils a bit more difficult to use) for those car cartridges!
Remember?

How we record lectures in the good old analog days...There were cassettes, and then there were microcasettes.

A long forgotten brand that was adventurous enough to go into autofocus in the early 80s.

got the analog counter 0000 - 9999 .....must remem the no to rewind to that part, lol

With cassette tapes, u can rewind back to the part of the song u want to hear.
I remember those double sides cassette player, when I started to listen Engerish songs, I would play one side and record on the other side, so i would choose all my favourite songs and record in one tape.

Today, I had my Marantz amplifier and player which can play CD and USB, together with Monitor audio speakers small and powerful.
Cost me about $1,400

Sony made a double-sided Walkman that could do the same. It's a highly sought after collector's item now.

In/Out is to manually indicate whether you have used the DOLBY Noise Reduction encoding during the recording. True DOLBY system will reduce the noise associated with the music, but some falsely certified DOLBY recorders will instead, simply lower the treble of the recorded music to obscure the noise, which will then make its recording losing its high fidelity.

In and Out refers to Dolby noise reduction on or off. Some tape-labels even have tick-box for Dolby-B or Dolby-C.
Dolby-C was more effectively in removing hiss but catch is the tapes recorded in one deck will sound bad on another due to differences in tape azimuth. It comes with decks that has comprehensive calibration features like those from Nakamichi.
Dolby-S was much more effective but came late to the party as CD and DAT were coming into the picture by then in the late 80s and early 90s.

I missed the good old days of creating a compilation on tapes recorded from vinyl. The process was truly a labour of love.

I remembered my eldest sister would write all the songs she likes and passes it to the cassette shop for recording, how much was it, I don't know. A dying trade now.

The disavantages of a cassette 's player was that when the rotating rubber got worn out and the cassette tape would get stucked to the player and it damaged my favourite song, cursed. So every time when I bought a new tape, I would loosen the screws a bit to let it rotates freely.

There used to be a record shop in Outram Park that does this recording service. They charged by number of songs. I don't remember exactly how much but it was quite expensive back then in the 80s, but the recording quality was superb !
The tricky part is making sure the song doesn't get cut off due to to end of tape.
This was the tape I used. The dynamic range was simply outstanding for a normal tape !
