NSman Too Scared to Report Sick & DIED Woh!

I already stated the gorunds, read my earlier post.

>>But he did not tell the squad's field instructor that he was unwell, and carried on running.

During the run, two squad-mates noticed Mr Roslan - who weighed 93kg - to be unwell but he indicated that he was fine and continued running.<<

U tell me what grounds lor? I even use bigger font size to assist you wor!

LOL! If the instructor was me, any recruit or trainee saying he's unwell, I'd tell him, look, I'm not a medical officer. You want to report sick or not? If yes, go medical centre. If not, continue with training. Commonsense SOP.

However, I do know some sadistic instructors will always add, you'd better come back with Attend C at least or get sickbayed. Otherwise, I'd make sure your Attend B is busy. And if you come back with nothing, you pray.

I never tekan or threaten recruits or trainees like that. Just do my job law by law. When he comes back. I'll treat him according to what MO says. If Attend B means Attend B, nothing extra. If Attend C means Attend C. If nothing? I won't tekan him also, just continue with training. If he collapsed during training, not my problem. MO problem.

This is written in the SinkieTimes Media that will protect those PAP losers. You mean you believe what it is written? SO what is the outcome, still those cover the ass statements.

It has nothing to to with our young men. The weather has gotten hotter in the last 30 years. This requires additional precautions, which does not appear to have been followed in this case. Also, younger generations are generally more out of shape due to sedentary lifestyle, e.g. internet, x-box, etc. Its not unique to S'pore. Kids in China, US, etc. getting more and more obese. Cannot blame it just on our kids.

"Nothing to do with our young men" and "younger generations are generally more out of shape" are contradicting.

Frankly, the training regime in the Army and SPF have gotten nothing but easier over the years. Trainees get lots of welfare and care from instructors on the whole. Hell, even the infamous "Ali Baba" bag has wheels for pulling along like a trolley.

So what is at fault here? The "easier" training regime is at fault here? Or the younger generation themselves?

What I find most ludicrous is taking air con buses to exercises or to the range.
Can you imagine people looking into these buses and see all those young men in camouflage uniforms and carrying their rifles nodding off and drooling in the air con buses?
In the bad old days, we used to scamble up and down 3 tonners. With the covers down, we could nod off and drool all we wanted.
