1. The air force is manned by regulars about 100%. No problem there.
2. The navy is manned by regulars about 80%. No problem there.
3. The army is manned by regulars about 20%. Work on that.

When I was serving my NS, I did think its a waste of precious years where peers could go for higher education. Even after I ORD, I still feel the same. But when I think about, I don't do, you don't do, everyone don't do. How?

The question is for $3000, will you sign up then? I know I wouldn't want to be a soldier even if I am paid $5000 for a start.

NS in itself is a good concept, especially for a small nation with a very small regular military force.
It is the attitude and behaviour of some of the people in the military and managing the military that is the problem.

But in many other countries, the citizens will be in an uproar over any mishap or mishandling of cases during peace time. Our citizens are extremely timid, to say the least.
"Eaten up" by which country? Even if Singapore has only the current air force and navy (almost all regulars), only 6 countries in the world have a realistic military chance of successfully invading and landing on Singapore. Malaysia, Indonesia, USA, UK, France and Russia. Which do you have in mind?

During BMT, My lower both legs was so pain that I have to eudure the running, jumping(obstical course) and marching and so on. I have seek medical consultation from TCM that is my nerve system that causes it but no MC from TCM was regonize, thus I have to endure thru.
UNtil 30 years today, I have found out from the reputable TCM that I have flat foot !! OMG, luckily I survive !
One more occasion, that I want to the medical center to report sick at 4.00 pm due to skin itch, and the doctor just gave me a jab, after couple of minutes, Doc told me I can go, and know what, I walked for couple of steps, and just knock off and fall to the ground. until my parent found that I was not back home, and start to look for me, and realize I was in one of the bed in the medical center, with no one know who I am and no one inform my parent too. what happen if I died ?
Till today, in my bottom of my heart, do you know how I feel about this. If I will be given a chance, I will leave this shit place.
