Ngiam Tong Dow says his recent comments on ministers unfair and illogical

Coming from a humble background is not necessarily the antidote to elitism. In fact, many of those who come from a humble background are often more elitist when they're doing well, because they want to 'blot out' their humble history. They end up doing lots of elitist stuff to overcompensate for that.

This Ngiam fellow must have been warned or threatened from behind the scenes, causing his balls to shrink.

I am suprised that he had retracted his statement. What can i say????............

Everything that clown says is illogical. He probably has dementia.

The withdrawal of the statement looks worse for the PAP. Everyone will think pressure was applied. That Ministers cannot take criticism. But things said cannot be unsaid. Worse if it resonates with widely-held sentiments.

I offer a different take on this. The ground is already so polarized between the anti-PAP and pro-PAP elements. Thus, the views of these 2 camps will not change arising from this fiasco. Instead, the anti-PAP camp will simply harden its stance against the PAP.

However, the views of these 2 groups are immaterial. The group that matters are the political neutrals. When they look at this fiasco many of them will simply say to themselves, "If a person with the stature and high public profile of Ngiam can be so easily brow-beaten and made to do a complete reversal then it is best for the rest of us, who are lesser mortals, to simply not stick our necks out at all."

Is this the right analysis of how S'porns will react?

Instead, the anti-PAP camp will simply harden its stance against the PAP.

It does not matter how hard or soft the stance of the anti-PAP camp is because when the elections come round, 60% or more will still vote for the PAP.
