Newbie questions

Then u should put up the names of those who out for bad scheme ! U should inform us the truth what is happening in the forum! It's not ethical also to hide the truth! Everyone deserve to hear the truth!

Can we stay on topic please. They are just nicks in cyberspace, some i am sure are created once off and i just ignored and deleted them.

I already shared the links of some of those infamous ones in my earlier posting. Those who PMed me could just easily revert back to their old nicks or use new ones even when found out so the only way to be sure is to take reasonable precaution when meeting up.

I try not to assume anything when meeting up. I did notice that some nicks are specifically created to join in when a meeting is suggested, no one knows who they are.

Going back to the original post, everyone should take reasonable care of their online nick when meeting up and to start from within their neighbourhood.

Except for the first comment, some of these comments were right after i rejected them.

Thanks for your understanding, its just Wuqi. :)
Yes, as we expect others to respect our country, so we should respect theirs as well.

Haircut wise, there is a Ling salon (besides Pontian wanton mee) where they give you a very long shoulder and scalp massage on top of haircut. Treatment, etc available.

These posters is really saying about themselves without realizing it when they post such comments on public forum.

They need a major operation to move their brains from down there to up there.

Hi Ms Crystal,
Parked in front of a money changer at Jln Wong Ah Fook to change some cash, while kids and maid waited in the car. Returned to see ticket on windscreen. All happened within 2 min, very efficient traffic control. Anyway, for this newbie, fine paid, lesson learned :)

Sorry to hear, if you have a bank account like Maybank, you could use the internet banking feature to pay your bills online. If its MBJB, just pay online or at their site locally and get 50% off if you pay within 14 days. (if i remember this correctly)

Re: Visa Considerations for Living in JB?

Hello,

I am just saving and preparing the money 500K RM to buy a house. When I buy it, should I exchange the whole 500K with SGD all at once or should I buy a little at a time to get a better exchange rate? I feel like a forex dealer.... Say, I got 3 months to pay up the full amount?

Thanks!!

Invest Malaysia

Found this recent presentation slides by UEM Land to be very informative especially for those who wants to get a quick glimpse on the current developments and also future plans by them. Must admit, they deserved all the accolades achieved to date with a pretty massive and impressive plan moving forward........

Cheers,
N

Re: Mm2h

Not that complicated and don't really need agents if you have enough $$$ and meets their requirements but need to make at least one visit to KL regardless whether you do it yourself or not.

Hi, the rules changed, don need to go

Thank you for the tips, fine settled...

Would do myself a favor to enroll in a part-time Malay language night class to assimilate into JB living :)

I would like to put my 2 yr old LED 42" TV in my car and drive over thru the Causeway.
Need I pay duty for used electrical appliances?
Any difference if theres a Malaysian in the car, claiming that he got it from a 2nd hand shop?

I brought two tv in, easier if his a 4 wheel drive or those mpv, which can convert backseat to flat... Lay tv flat, put some big ikea blue bags filled
With clothes or towels, usually they don bother to check as 1. 4 wheel drive too high to reach in, mpv too deep to reach in too.

Advice on Security issues (eg Security Alarm, CCTV, steel gate, auto gate)

I thought this might be a useful thread for anyone who's looking into security issues for your house....

I believe a security alarm @ home is a must.

So we are considering a few companies.

1 company is ADT http://www.adt.my http://www.adt.my

And another is

Accom malaysia http://www.accom.my/http://www.accom.my/

And another is

Miracle http://www.miracle.com.my/http://www.miracle.com.my/

Anyone with recommendation or advices are welcome to share.

We plan to install cctv, security alarm and also build an extra steel gate.

Re: Advice on Security issues (eg Security Alarm, CCTV, steel gate, auto gate)

Some times overdoing it paints a target for yourself. Security alarm is good but some may decide to just leave it unarmed after a while for convenience.

Most importantly is to cultivate a good civil relationship with your neighbours so they can help to look out for your place when you are not around.
