It was the same when I first went to Edmonton.

In Calgary it is not so much. Few wave thank you when you give way although people still give way. Pedestrians will say thank you. I do too as a pedestrian myself. For example when my daughter is driving her mini cooper car and we are crossing road and a car comes they will stop. But I pai seh so will try to push my daughter faster across the road.
