Re: My final solution to all of sg’s problems

· Stricter regulations on religious organizations. Come down hard on rich and manipulative evangelist religions.
· Enforce secularism. Ban religious soliciting. Young minds are too vulnerable to decide what religion is right for them, or to reject religion.
you points are very commendable, quite alot of points you raised are good ideas, but some are not workable, like restriction of pet ownerships. pet fix an angry heart, pets show you the meaning of love. restricting pets means restricting love. banning bikes is also an indication of you don't understand the needs of the foreign workers. do you know how much is a dollar to them that they can saved and remit back home by travelling by bicycles instead of our public transportation? are foreign workers not human? don't they have to eat too? don't they have rights too?
i originally wanted to submit your ideas to PMO office, but after reading the above statement, i believed you have totally misunderstood the Christian faith.
are you saying it's better for young to go to pub and get drunk and high, or pregnant instead of going to a church, to develop your spiritual well being? secularlism is not good for a society, as they have to rely on idol worshipping to be satisified. like money or oneself. where is the love for mankind? where is the noble ideals of serving people instead of serving yourselves?
people are free to choose in what they believe in. nobody forces a gun at your head to let you make that decision. people convert because they feel there's some truth in the Bible. even if you want to be baptised, you will be asked to take a course and interviewed before you are allowed to. because you have to be sure of what you are doing. you can decide to leave the faith later if you feel that you are not fulfilled by the word of God. or you could stick with God and continue to put your faith to the test.
enforcing secularism and banning religious soliciting is as evil as censorship itself. we are progressing towards a society that allow human choice and freedom instead of receiving orders down from the top. if we are doing more of the latter, we are regressing back to where we are came from.
singaporeans are losing their souls and their spirituality, and are becoming more indifferent and self serving nowadays, especially when their primary focus is only money or just to satisfy their lustful desires. look at the Xmas present donation? only 40% of the projected figures. where's the Xmas spirit in the country? turn back before it's too late for the country.
