Canada is the land of riches.

It has everything you need to survive. In fact when you watch any movie that is about the apocalypse the protagonists will aim to go to Canada.

Water. Food. Timber. Energy sources oil gas sun hydro nuclear geothermal it is all here in Canada.

Yes it is heavily dependent on resource commodities. But why not when you have an abundance?

Contrast with Singapore. No water. No food. No fuel. No nothing except people. Human resource?

What is Singapore funded by? Exploiting Cheap labor imported from neighboring poor countries. Imagine the tax-hikes and social security burden when the cheap labor supply disappears. Imagine the currency depreciation as well. Widespread supermarket runs on food and toilet paper.

It might still happen in the near future.

It is a multi purpose field. There are soccer posts but no net. There are soccer clinics for kids there in late afternoons. They split the field into smaller pitches and bring their own soccer goals. I have one myself.

Also the baseball diamond.

Maintained by the city of calgary.

Some of the walkways behind houses are maintained by the home owners.

I have such a space at my own house. See the green space beyond my back fence? We maintain it ourselves with the neighbors.

GEP and A-Star produced nothing significant for Singapore.
The game-plan now is to get qualified for GEP and then use the qualification and switch to a better school (not GEP) locally or overseas.
Likewise for A-Star, the good ones will get qualified for the scholarships, get married and have kids during the bond and then leave when the bond is over.

Thanks. Even during winter it is pretty nice most days. Can still go for walks. I will post pics as the seasons change too.

We maintain our garden and house all by ourselves. No contractor. My son mows the lawn once a week during summer. Wife likes to plant stuff. I like to pull out weeds.

My house was last assessed this year to be $655,000 by the city of calgary for propery tax purposes. I paid $760,000 for it in 2013.

5 years ago, someone asked me to buy a US$1m property in good CA district, I didn't realized that that was the start of the CA property rally.
3 years later, the same property was worth $2m, the steepest climb in recent memory.

If you are buying it own-stay, Covid is a good time to buy some properties for your princes.
