An important update on the implementation of
#HealthierSG.
As many of you know, Healthier SG is about getting Singaporeans to embrace preventive care. GPs, whom we regularly see and take medical advice from, are key to this effort.
We have therefore placed tremendous focus on onboarding GPs onto Healthier SG, and have been working with various GP groups.
We are supporting GPs to take up this new role. This includes grants for IT upgrades, an option for patients with complex chronic conditions to opt for subsidised polyclinic drugs, and annual service fees for each resident that GPs enrol into Healthier SG and take care of.
Since last November, we have actively sought their views through many physical and online seminars. Most recently, we held a Town Hall which was attended by more than 600 GPs. We received much feedback, and have adjusted the scheme to make it work for them.
Our recruitment of GPs started in March. As of today, out of 1,200 CHAS GP clinics in Singapore, 712 have joined Healthier SG. These include all major group practices such as
Raffles Medical Group and
Healthway Medical Group, and most clinics in large Primary Care Networks (PCN) such as Class PCN and Frontier PCN.
I am most encouraged by this development. On behalf of
Ministry of Health, Singapore, I thank our GPs for supporting this important national policy that will fundamentally change the health landscape and elevate the role of GPs and primary care.
As we work towards enrolment in July, I hope even more will come on board.
