Manchester United Season 2009-10

They've acquired Javier Hernandez from Mexico. Looks interesting. Hopefully he won't end up like Manucho.

...........................
Berbatov is a very specific type of player, someone who can only play a certain way. He is not suited for the uptempo game that Man Utd likes to play. Some people forget that he was in the Bayer Leverkusen team that knocked Man Utd out of the Champions League a few years ago. When he was at Leverkusen and at Spurs, there were times when commentators and analysts said that he put on "masterclasses" in forward play, especially when he was playing alone upfront, with his flicks, shielding of the ball, passing, knock ons, control, etc.....

Agree and I see your point. When Fergie brought him to Man Utd, Berba would give him new tactical options and add a new dimension to Utd's game. However, two seasons on and he hasn't shown any consistency in terms of technique, vision and most importantly goal scoring ability. Could he simply be another misfit like the Verons and Forlans.

He's an individualist that much I can say and he's finding life hard trying to fit into a club known for its teamwork. If Fergie waits another year, he's valuation would fall as the player would be in his 30's. Moreover, he has to be offered an extension to the current contract(just like Nani) or he'll walk free. Keep him if you must but leave that option of 'disposing' him when the right offer comes along. It can only be good for player and club.

Where is Claudio Ranieri??!!!

Goodbye title ~~~ :(:(:(:(
Congrats to Chelsea, they deserve the title :):)

Hate to say this, especially to Wayne Piew, but told you so. Old folks home can't last the last lapse, total collapse.

don't worry, ah wayne, I am with u :D

all you 'told-u-so's, if it is chelsea who is dropping pts & Man U continuing to win, then u would be saying 'Man U very experienced in running the last lap unlike the others ...'

all the 事后诸葛 。。。。wise after the event ....

If Man U wins EPL this season, I'll let you have three free punches on me. If not, I'll take two free punches on you. On?

Man U empty handed this season xcept for mickey mouse cup. Toothless against blackburn, likely to lose against Man City.

They play like kittens against Blackburn, lack height, lack tenacity, lack ideas. Berbatov is constantly fustrated, he does not like to get rough - and Blackburn plays rough. One comical scene, he was down covering his face, blackburn didn't kick ball out, and when Man U got the ball, they also didnt play the ball out, oblivious to him lying on the floor...

nani the prima donna cannot get a decent cross, if not, constantly shoot into legs...

with this finishing, how to win? They need someone of drogba calibre, who can bash....no one can bash then. Macheda looks like got potential but he off game so long....rusty

hopefully the new mexico tortilla can be better. This season gone liao...

LOL! Yeah. Let's see. Krafty will pick me up 7:45 PM.

I never claim to be a good fighter. I just fight like a man. Win I call 995 for the left lying. Lose, hope he call 995 for me too.

It's the fight that matters, not the winning or losing.

It looks like Chelsea will go on to win the double, BPL and FA cup. I don't see them dropping any points in their last 5 games, especially after watching the performances from Liverpool and Spurs last night. Good for them, they deserve it, but I believe that part of their success is because the owner has a heavy involvement in managing the club. It's true that Fergie and Wenger have had varying degrees of success with their clubs, but the clubs are starting to feel the consequences of being managed by all-controlling managers. Funnily enough, Roman will be the only guy at Chelsea who won't be pleased, he really wanted the champions league.

Man Utd and Arsenal need to tweak their teams, they still have some pretty good players around. And they seriously need to consider having a strong number 2 at the club, to put a little bit of pressure on the all-controlling ones, as well as to give different opinions and ideas.

Old Trafford is Old Folks Home. Game over unless renovate and rejuvenate.

RIO FERDINAND says Carlos Tevez was a lazy trainer so he could conserve all his energy for match days.
The former Manchester United striker, 26, will be going full throttle for bitter rivals City on Saturday.

And United defender Ferdinand has revealed why the little Argentine seems to have boundless energy in games.

He said: "Carlos is an interesting character. When he was at United, he saved all his energy for the games - he didn't really go over the top at training.

"He worked hard in the gym - he was a professional in that sense - but everything he did was geared towards the match at the weekend.

"You could see him conserving his energy during the week and then laying it all on the line out on the pitch.

"That's not the way I operate, I have to train at a high level every day. But it works for Carlos and he can be a real handful to defend against."

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to take a massive hit on Dimitar Berbatov and dump him at the end of the season.
The Bulgarian has struggled to make an impact since his £30.75million switch from Spurs in September 2008.

His performances in the defeat against Chelsea and Sunday's goalless draw at Blackburn have been the final straw for many fans.

And manager Alex Ferguson also looks to have lost faith in the club's record signing.

Fergie opted for a half-fit Wayne Rooney against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final second leg rather than risk Berbatov.

The striker did get the nod for the title crunch with Chelsea but it was his first start against any of United's big-four rivals this season.

Fergie argues his preference for playing one up front in European games has restricted Berbatov's action.

But the last two games have shown when he does start, he cannot be relied upon. Berbatov, 29, has also been rapped in Bulgaria over his displays for the national team.

With United's title bid all but over Ferguson is looking ahead to next season.

His No 1 target a year ago, Karim Benzema, will be back on the market this summer after a poor season at Real Madrid.

Ferguson could get his man for the £25m he originally offered before Real stepped in with a £35m bid.

Wenger also has 25 million to blow. Arsenal can easily pop in to grab Benzema with the French connection. Signs are indicating that this summer, Arsenal will be finally splashing in the transfer market.

They will not buy any strikers as they have surplus-RVP,Vela,Bendtner and Eduardo. If they buy Chamakh, it simply means someone will be put on loan or sold. They will be looking for a center back to partner Vermalaen and quite possibly a new keeper.

I'd rather Man U go for Bojan Krkic.

In even-numbered years (World Cup or Euro years) it's very difficult for managers, especially managers of top flight clubs, to have their minds set on player buy-ins early. They'd wait for the tournaments to end and see who're the rising stars.

On the contrary, that's when managers are shown up - who is genius & who is run-of-the-mill.

When they wait till after the tournament to see who are the top stars, any tom/dick/harry fan can do that & besides the value of the stars would have sky-rocketed by then - how to get a good deal unless you are Man City or Real Madrid ?

The shrewd Managers made their move prior to the World Cup, getting better bargain before rather than after World Cup and also showing the world their judgment & eye for talent.

Ferguson picked up Rooney after Euro 2004 and Ronaldo after World Cup 2006. Wenger picked up Henry after World Cup 1998 and Ashravin after Euro 2008. There're many more examples of course. Too many to list all.

Ferdinand should keep his mouth shut on such matters.
Does he not realize that what he's saying about Tevez is an irony, since he is exactly the opposite in that he claims to train hard every day but happens to be the player who drops out of matches most often at the last minute?
He should just keep his head down, train hard and look to get over his injury problems.

Spurs got Luka Modric of Croatia in Apr 08 before he went to Euro 08 in June, Either way, I suppose if club got money, then any coach would feel more expedient to sign after the Big Show .... even if it will cost more if the prospect had a great outing..
