The young lad Rafael looks good although he still needs to sort himself on defensive duties...not so sure about his brother Fabio though?

I've seen Fabio play for reserves. He's ok and likely to improve. The left back is probably the hardest job as you have more natural right wingers in most teams. I'm sue he'll get his chance next season.

Tevez likely to leave. Dun think United will have a chance with Benzema. He has said it so many times he wants to go to sunny Spain. We definitely need another striker.

I think that the only reason Fabio is playing at left back is because Rafael is at right back. Fabio took a penalty recently in a reserve game with his right foot (and missed!) But I think he is primarily right footed.
As for strikers, how about Sergio Aguero from Athletico Madrid? Don't think Lyon will sell Benzema and neither will Pato and Bojan be available.

There may be a clearout at Madrid this summer to raise cash. If they buy Kaka, then I am pretty sure Ron will not be moving.
I think Huntelaar or Fabiano will be good. I reckon they would be more than willing to sell Huntelaar or someone who have at least good resale value.

what do you think of Kaka heading to Old Trafford and will Ronny then be missed afterall?

United really dun need Kaka but if Ronnie were to leave, he will definitely be missed by all, especially Fergie.
Ronnie gives United tactical options. He can play left, right or even as an outright striker. He's good in the air and shoots well. It would not be fair for the fans to expect Kaka to fit into Ron's boots if indeed United is serious about him.
It is highly unlikely though but I do sense that United is willing to let Ron leave at the right price.

United should just wait for the firesale to take place at Madrid in the summer. They've got some really good players which may come cheap.

Kaka's arrival and Ronaldo's departure may not make the football team better, but perhaps it will make the character better.

I think tonight's Champions League against ArseAnal will be walk in the park for Man Utd since ArseAnal got dodgy defence and most of their key players are injured at the moment.
Add to the fact, their only decent player, Arshavin is ineligible.

Sir Alex should start the fantastic four of Ronaldo, Berba, Rooney and Tevez all together, with each scoring a goal each.
Man Utd 4 ArseAnal 0:p

How so? If they do get Kaka, I see him as a direct replacement for Giggs. Giggs is the only creative midfielder who can deliver accurate crosses besides Rooney. He's got good vision and reads the game well but should he ever pick up a serious injury, that would be the cue for Giggs to hang up his boots.

While the timing of the awards leaves alot to be desired, I thot it was always going to be between Giggs and Vidic.
Steven Gerard had a good season and would have been the obvious choice if Pool had won any of the trophies at stake including the Mickey Mouse Cup.

Pools Pundits John Barnes & Tony Cascarino Decry PFA Award
New Football Pools pundits John Barnes and Tony Cascarino reflect with Goal.com on the PFA Awards - and neither is impressed with the voting system or the choice of winner...

John Barnes, the former Liverpool and England star, and Tony Cascarino, the ex-Republc of Ireland striker, are pundits for the New Football Pools - and independently they told Goal.com that the wrong person won the PFA Awards earlier this week...

John Barnes told us:

"The PFA Awards were handed out this week and I was surprised to see that Ryan Giggs had won the Player of the Year award. Now don’t get me wrong, Ryan is a great ambassador for the game, a great player and a nice guy too, and I think what he’s achieved deserves to be recognised. However, this is an award judged on the performance of this season and for me, Steven Gerrard should have won it.

"In reality Steven has been the best player in the Premier League this season and deserved the award. He continues to drive Liverpool forward year-on-year and while Giggs has performed well, he has only made 12 Premier League starts for United which suggests he is not even first choice at Old Trafford.

"I can’t say I agree with the decision but good luck to Ryan for winning the award. It’s just a shame after so many great seasons at Old Trafford that he’s won it in a year when he’s not played more of a key role for Manchester United."

Tony Cascarino was even more forthright on the same topic...

"The fact that Ryan Giggs has won the PFA Player of the Year award is absolute nonsense in my opinion. I’ve nothing against Ryan who has been a fantastic advocate for the game and his club but he has won purely on a sentiment vote.

"Giggs has made less Premier League starts than in any of his previous seasons barring his debut season and scored just once in the league yet wins the award. How does that make sense?

"Let’s be brutally honest, Steven Gerrard has been 10 times better than Giggs this season. Apart from one poor game against Chelsea in the Champions League he has been great this season.

"Steven has made 26 league starts and scored 13 goals in a great season for him personally. In fact, I’d put players who weren’t even in the nominations higher than Giggs this season. His team-mate Wayne Rooney has been good as has Frank Lampard who has continued to score from midfield. Therefore, this award must go down as a sentiment vote which totally devalues the award.

"Even in my playing days I always regarded these awards as a bit of nonsense, basically because players tend to vote stupidly. They go for names of players they rate rather than people that have played well over the course of the season. Just look at this year’s team of the year. Take into account the votes are made in January and that Fernando Torres is in the side. Now don’t get me wrong Torres is a top, top striker but he has missed a lot of the season and only scored seven league goals by the end of January. He has only been at his best in the last few months so you have to take these votes into context.

"Edwin van der Sar was a nominee for the overall award as well as named in the team of the year which I don’t agree with. For me, the Dutchman can’t kick a ball properly and tends to shank it all over the place. He is certainly not in the same class as the likes of Peter Schmeichel and David Seaman. If you had to pick a keeper I’d have gone for Aston Villa’s Brad Friedel or Liverpool’s Jose Reina who have both performed really well.

"Votes should be cast at the end of the season which would help improve the awards, but while players pick other players they like rather than those who deserve it, these strange decisions will continue."

Man Utd 2 Middlesboro 0.
Gareth Southgate's Boro are so shit. They are definitely going down.
Easy 3 points at the end of the day.
Job well done. Sir Alex has one hand on the RECORD-EQUALLING 18th title.

Mourinho: Utd won't win trophy

Jose Mourinho has criticised old club Chelsea’s tactics, but is “100 per cent sure” Manchester United won’t win the Champions League.

The Inter boss was asked for his predictions on the competition by Sky Italia television this weekend.

“I am 100 per cent sure Manchester will qualify, but who wins the other semi-final will then be Champion of Europe,” said the Special One.

United lead Arsenal 1-0 from the first leg at Old Trafford, although they wasted many opportunities to extend that advantage.

In the other semi, Chelsea held Barcelona to a 0-0 draw at the Nou Camp with tactics that many have called ‘catenaccio’ or even ‘anti-football.’

“Chelsea are my former club, it’s hard for me to talk about this,” mused Mourinho when pressed on this issue.

“They are physically the strongest side in the world, feel very comfortable when sitting back and did nothing to score in Barcelona, but looked like they could be there for hours and not concede.

“[With the 6-2 at Real Madrid on Saturday night] Barcelona proved what they can do playing away from home with more space, but Chelsea can be very dangerous from set plays.”
