Anwar Ibrahim appointed interim PM - Party sources

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been appointed interim prime minister, sources close to him said.
Sources said since Anwar does not have the majority of members of the Dewan Rakyat yet, he will assume the position of interim prime minister for the time being.
When asked to verify that Anwar will be interim prime minister, the insider said: "Yes, looks like it for now."
As of 5.30pm, Anwar is still at Istana Negara, while Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has left the palace.

Later on, Bandar Kuching member of parliament Kelvin Yii confirmed the rumour through his latest Facebook posting.
He said Anwar has been named interim prime minister and needed to work in building his majority.
"Anwar Ibrahim named interim prime minister. Now responsibility on him to build his majority. God bless this land!"
