The last part of the white paper discusses the final numbers we will be looking at in 2030, a population consisting of 55% Singaporeans (this number includes the newly minted citizens during the 17 year period) and calls this a "strong core" of Singaporeans. It also discusses the benefits if the PAP govt goes along the proposed plan - increase job opportunities, good quality of life, and the chance to live in a vibrant economy. To tell this to Singaporeans who are already filled with anger and frustration resulting from the high foreign influx of the last decade that maintaining a high influx is good for them is an insult - we already know the consequences and outcomes of such a policy, throughout the last decade, the PAP has reiterated that a high foreign influx is here to create a better life for Singapore, but that is not what happened. To try to fool us again shows the disingenuity of our leaders - not only have they failed to deliver, they are now proposing to go along a trajectory we know will not deliver a good quality of life for our people.

Folks. Our population was 2.4 mil in the early 80's and at the time the PAP first gen gov said that we WERE already running out of space.

We had population planning controls, primary school priority for those who had operation to stop at two, graduate mother priority, endless campaigns and millions spent on Radio and TV ads telling us the population was already too much at 2.4 million. Not only water and electricity. One of the main big concern is food supply also. Does Sillypore has enough food supply to feed all the 7 mil of people each day at a "reasonable affordable price"? Food in Sillypore is getting expensive and we don't cultivate our own food and all of them are imported. A simple "supply and demand" calculation will tells you that we will ended up paying higher price for food and all other daily necessity. No doubt we can import food from our neighboring countries but with 7 mil of people I believe our neighbors may not even have sufficient food to feed their own citizens if they sell tons of food to Sillypore. When supply exceed demand, price will shoot up sky high.

During those day, that old Lee make his calculation that the gahbrament don't wish to spend so much $$$ to give subsidy on children's education, medical fees, whatever fees etc. He enforced the stop at 2 kids policy so that less $$$ to spend on the citizen's welfare.

Now they keep accumulating tons of public $$$ but their investment arm GIC keep losing public $$$.
They need to come out with ways to sustain wealth and the easiest and fastest way is to earn $$$ thru "consumer spending" as a shortcut to boost economic growth each year. With 7 mil of people, tons of $$$ will be collected each day based on GST alone. Plus a lot of property developers are all GLC related and they will be able to earn tons of public $$$ by selling properties at sky high price. That's why you get to see so many advertisement commercials on private properties these days.
