Haha just to make sure that our very own list starts off smoothly. I can't maintain it forever anyway Have to leave it to its own fate sooner or later

seems like im the only BH there :S
Hi Wuqi
Thanks for the reply.
So every year I have to set aside 1k for all these taxes.....
First time buying property , needs to know all this and manage my finance.
Bro Wuqi,
care to share your long term goal in life as well as your investment goals? where would you retire. I think for me, I will still be in Singapore and JB no matter what happens to our beloved motherland. I am a patriot (but don't support the people ruling) and can't bear to leave my family and friends. At most, if I have the means, I will only buy properties outside Malaysia and Singapore as investments or holiday home. I've been to NZ and I love the lifestyle there, but might not be able to get used to the relax good life, of course it's not possible to bring everyone we know along too, so that sucks.
I no longer have much long term goals, the key is to get financially independant for my family as much as possible. Education is key, i try to be the opposite of some people in my life. Where they thrive on depriving others of education and skills so as to be the "better" man/half, i do the opposite. I empower those around me financially. I made sure my siblings got invested in every investment opportunity that i deemed near 100% and covered their losses when necessary. Same
goes for my wife's business, more than happy to bleed money for her to study and to learn. I want to pass on knowing that i have done the best for my family, my wife and my dad + mum. Many claim they love their families but too few take steps for them. To me, love is beyond this fragile life, i hope to at least close my eyes with the knowledge that i have done all i could have in this life time. The least i could do for those i love? Is to try.

Hi Wuqi,We don't really have much of a choice, the rest of the population still thinks everything is alright, i no longer believe in people who are vocal and always appears fierce and awesome yet remains passive about their lot. We need to realise that It is no longer our land.
As a learned yet Starcraft crazed friend of mine once said (He plays Terran), do not fret if your base is lost. Uproot, fly off and look for another.
Though i am more of a Protoss guy, i was inclined to agree.
Sitting and waiting for certain demise? Not my way.
Hi Wuqi,
Starcraft strategies are based on enemy annihilation hence moving production base closer to enemy base works well, but here is about living world lifestyle & identity..
Think alot of us here will not renounce citizenship despite having properties overseas
Most of us will not unless the situation has gone so bad that we don't want to be Singaporean... At that time one can think positively that by so doing, we can get back our CPF?
Who know our CPF will be like 401K and worse, we don't even know what is happening to the money..
The day when everyone want to withdraw the CPF, I am sure we will be forbidden to do so..
Anyway since CPF is not withdraw-able, we might as well utilise it to buy whatever it can afford.. Probably the HDB and rent it out but again, with the govt rules, we are not allowed to buy HDB if we have private property local or overseas..
