I thought you are telling us we can have some good wild life feast at shop near HH..

For bros who are into exotic animals like mongoose, snakes, iguana/lizards. There is a new shop (African Zone) right before reaching HH (on your left in the same row as the 88 coffeeshop)

Lots to see and lots to buy including skunks, prairie dogs(last one bought by a lady) and lots of hedgehogs. Good place to have a look, feels like a mini zoo.

Reporting my adventure with coastal highway today: went in from near HH entrace where there was a sign saying "no entrance"... filtered left and entered the highway... reached a point which looked like the connection at Perling but it looked as if i would drop off a cliff if i continued... u-turned back and drove all the way to East Ledang side.

I think this should cut travelling time for HH folks to get to Tuas by about 3 - 5 minutes (normally it should take about 15 minutes to get to MY side checkpoint at second link). It also improves accessibility for EL folks to get to Jusco Bukit Indah by about the same timing. Probably the main beneficiary will be people who need to commute between JB city and Kota Iskandar in either direction, at present the way via Jalan Skudai is horrendous in the morning and evening.

That's interesting but is it exotic pets or exotic foods you are talking about ? Can you share some updates on developer's price of houses (terrace, cluster, semi-D and bungalow ) ?

It is illegal to keep most exotic pets in Spore.

Copied from another forum - for those who own Msia registered cars intending to drive in Sg. -

"In recognition of the needs of bona fide Singaporeans or Singapore PRs working and residing in Malaysia to make home visits to Singapore, we could consider you for the special concession scheme. Under the scheme, all approved applicants are allowed to drive their Malaysia-registered cars into Singapore for all weekends, all Singapore public holidays and another 28 weekdays in a calendar year. Approval will be given on a case-by-case basis with consideration to the following:

The applicant (his spouse or his company) is the registered owner of the vehicle. If the vehicle is rented/leased by his company, he has to submit an official letter from the company stating the period the vehicle is leased for and that the vehicle is provided solely for his use;
He is physically working and residing in Malaysia;
He is required to apply to Land Transport Authority for approval when his earlier approval letter (if any) has expired (i.e. upon expiry of his vehicle's insurance/road tax or 6 months, whichever is earlier);
His vehicle has a valid Malaysia road tax disc and insurance coverage for the period it is used in Singapore; and
He must keep, in each of his visit, his vehicle outside Singapore before the vehicle entry permit grace expiry of 14 days from the date of the last entry.

(Note: Unless further extension is granted, the vehicle entry permit valid for 14 days is issued upon each entry and encoded in its Autopass Card electronically at land checkpoint.)

If you wish to apply for the scheme, please fax your request and the following documents to us at (02)-65535329 or (02)-65535802 (from Malaysia) or by email to [email protected]:

A photocopy of your vehicle's valid insurance certificate;
If the vehicle in your application is registered under your company's name (or is rented/leased by your company), we would also require an photocopy of your employer's letter stating the period the vehicle is leased for and that the vehicle is given solely for your use and that only you can drive the vehicle; and
A photocopy of your marriage certificate (if you are applying with your spouse's vehicle).

Hi Cathy,

Can provide the address of the Balestier shop? I'm interested in this also. Thanks.

I got my hubby to get their namecard. Here is the address:-

454 Balestier Rd
Tel: 62565033

The net is enough for 3 windows but the tape is only enough for 2 windows. But I think 2 windows for S$16.50 is still cheap. :wink:

ofcourse can several options available

1) increase the height of ur water tank... downside is water may not be able to climb up... so you may need an underground tank and a pump to power the water up. Guaranteed to increase water pressure.

2) The other method is to alter ur piping to connect directly to the tank of your Taman. Cheap method but cant guarantee good pressure always

3) Last method have a pump at ur shower point .... But make sure your pipes can handle the pressure....

Method no 2 is least troublesome i think imho

Thanks Cathy. Will check the Balestier branch. By the way, I saw a DIY version (made-in-Malaysia) at TESCO Bukit Indah during the weekend. They come with the glue and magnetic strip as well. A 4ft x 6ft version costs RM99.00.

Hi bros and sis,
would like to check if there are contractors able to increase water pressure? the water pressure currently at my place is low.. when bathing :eek:
Had similar problem in my precinct but had no contractor contact to offer. Every unit has a huge water tank installed above the ceiling of 2nd floor or 2st floor as the British call it. It serves the function that water supply is not interrupted when external supply has problem. However, water flowing from the tank to the outlets in the house was driven only be the drop in potential energy, or the difference in height. Hence, water pressure on 2d floor was low for say showing while it was acceptable on 1st floor for cooking.
The popular solution was having the developer installed a bypass on the tank. The bypass passes the external water supply pressure to the house outlets but the tank loses its function. Each unit paid less than RM400 for the parts and labor. An alternative was paid no more than RM1400 to the developer to have a boost up pump installed at the outlet of the pump. Some owners preferred to buy pumps in sg and pay for labor to install. The price of pumps varies widely. Could only recall someone said that a shop in perling, opposite the giant could do the job.
My suggestion is check whether there is a water tank on the roof if your neighbors have the same problem.

Anyone has a good reliable dentist to recommend in JB -near indah area?

JB city side got a lot, but Nusa Bestari side only got one near Bestmart (don't really like them). Why don't you try the associate clinic of Q&M at Nusa Bestari along the row of Old Town White Coffee
